The flood waters smell very sweet. Almost like Florida water. Is that a thing?

Question, my wife's grandmother lives way back behind that Auto Zone. Water was going down earlier and neighbors were taking care of her so she was good. Has the situation deteriorated that much? Do I need to call for a rescue?

BR & Surrounding areas 10-15" of rain expected through the middle of next week
Does someone who does not have flood insurance have any type of assistance at all available to them for repairs? Does the insurance company have zero liability?

Zero

I've realized tonight our citizens care more than the media and govt. does. It's sad... but thankfully we have so many great people in this state.

I told my father today that this should prove to everyone that if shite hits the fan, the government won't be the one saving you. It'll be your fellow citizens, just as we've seen today. Most of these rescues are done by private citizens. It's not that the local authorities aren't trying, but there are only so many of them, and every single one of these first responders is leaving their family and home which is likely in danger to save others.

We have gotten countless messages tonight from people thanking us for getting information out and asking why the media won't say anything, instead posting about "LSU fan day is cancelled" while people are in potential life or death situations. The media failed us all today.
