I appreciate your response. I feel very fortunate at the moment
Generally, older part of the city is higher ground. Safe to get some sleep and check again in a few hours IMO.

We are closer to the front but not all the way. Here is a pic of the street a few houses down from us.
There will be someone with truck nuts driving rapidly up and down that street soon.
I can still chunk one in 80s hit a car before will do it again

just like why the FQ in NOLA is the high ground
our ancestors knew what they were doing when they built where they did

The lake dropped down to normal levels today compared to yesterday so it can take on a good amount of water. Subdivision is over flood plane as well. So things look good if it stays at 46feet. I'm just choosing to stay up incase I need to ready my boat. Wish o could help out further south but we are pretty much trapped in the subdivision with Duff.

Back when common sense was prevalent. Nowadays they think technology will save them.

All it would take is some a-hole to do this and waves would go pretty far up some people's driveways.
Wondering what this will look like in morning.

What's up! Off topic but have you noticed a few petty thefts lately in the neighborhood? We had our bikes stolen out of our open garage one afternoon recently. Really pissed me off.

Anyone know of any organized plan/group for folks with boats tomorrow morning? Have a shallow water boat and want to help out. Sounds like more will need help. I'm over in Riverbend (by LSU), so getting across town may be a little tricky. Any ideas or can someone point me in right direction. Thanks.

Downtown and most areas adjacent to it.

I don't know about most dry, but the neighborhoods around downtown, Garden Dist., Capital Heights, Mid City, etc. are the oldest homes in town.
If it helps, we are pretty high and dry in College Hill on Highland/Lee. You go up a pretty steep incline to get to the end of our street, which is where we live. If we are under, people all over BR are dead.

If you have facebook join the Louisiana Flood Rescue - August 2016 group. They're setting up plans to meet up in W. Baton Rouge, Coursey, and Tanger I beleive.
