The difficulty with Clay Cut is there's not a gauge on the Amite at the confluence with Clay Cut. So it's tough to get a gauge (intended) on what that backwater elevation will be since there's no crest elevation there from the Amite.
Yea, it would really help if there were a gauge there or at least somewhere between denham and Manchac point.

This is the Claycut gauge closet to the Amite. It should start flooding very soon.
So if I'm at 28.8....?

The back loop Highland club has about 1.5ft of water covering the street. Most houses are 3-5 feet above the street so were still dry. Cars are all parked at the front of the subdivision. I'm still waiting it out with my jeep

Just curious - What makes you confident that Hagerstown would be ok?

Hearing that the St Amant/Gonzales area will be hit hard by the Amite River flooding.
Any truth to this? And When?
The Amite River at Bayou Manchac is projected to crest at noon on Monday.
The crest at Port Vincent isn't expected until 8 ish on Monday night.
Hopefully that gives you a decent idea.

I think it's at least six feet higher than the high water mark seen in 83

Thanks, I'm about two miles from Port Vincent.

Any eye witness accounts of what is going on around Claycut Bayou?

My flood map reads like a Rorschach test. Can't tell what tributary it's using. I see wavy line at 46 and I'm just over half a foot higher. But blue touches my front ditch. While my house is in Zone X.

I'm hoping that this rise won't go far, and will start receding quickly. How close are you to that area?

Just watching and waiting, I expect we will get Clay Cut reports soon.

We're like one corner and few houses from Chadsford and Kennesaw
