This is very true and why both of my girls tried out Girl Scouts with two different troops and ended up leaving both of them. All the leaders wanted to do was crafts, sell crap, and a once a year mom-daughter campout.
Yet other people I know in other cities with girls in Girl Scouts, do a lot more camping, outdoor activities, civic engagement, etc - very similar to what cub scouts do.

The Girl Scouts have an unusual problem this year: 15 million boxes of unsold cookies.
Good. Those cookies are garbage. You can walk 30 feet past the setup outside the store and buy better cookies for cheaper.
Plus, the leadership of the Girl Scouts and the Boy Scouts of America have allowed a small minority of loudmouth idiot progressives ruin their respective organizations. Their leaders never once stood up and shut those crazy agendas down. None of them listened to the majority of parents of scouts that actually participate and stood with them. They let it happen and smiled as they were force fed the bullshite.
frick em.

One of the better gags had to be Jon Lovitz dying in mid-movie then coming back later on because he thought it was a sequel.
Best part was when they shot up Bruce Willis's house and then realized they had the wrong place.

Don't worry, her boyfriend still buys them for her!
I've made it a goal of mine to keep her away from men who are obsessed with the girl scouts and their cookies. I know I can't compete with that level of alpha.

Nasty, overpriced cookies that are backed by deranged Liberals. 100% pass.

I have no idea what the per box amount was when my daughter did Girl Scouts, but her troop usually made a decent amount of money on cookie sales. There were a couple of girls that sold a ton of cookies though.

The Girl Scouts have some cookies left over
The enterprising young lass would setup her little cookie stand next to a marijuana dispensary.

And they lost their minds when the Boy Scouts started letting in girls.

Cub Scouts is very appealing to a lot of families with girls.
- The girls are often siblings, and are at campouts and meetings anyway.
- One less organization to deal with
- BSA has a shiat ton of resources and amazing properties to utilize.
- Girl Scouts are at the whim of the leader. If they love the outdoors, you'll get more outdoor activities. If they love crafts, you'll do more crafts. Cub Scouts is more centralized, the experience is generic. Turns out a lot of girls like to go camping and shoot BB guns, instead of learning to knit.
Girl Scouts should have looked for a way to align. The missions aren't really any different, but with numbers dwindling, why compete over a scarce resource?
Mine does both, I like Cub Scouts way better. I actively participate in it with her. The camp outs and programs are just better IMO.
Admitting girls is helping the Scouts a lot. They have completely revamped protections to weed out the fookers that were molesting kids. They actively worked to improve/prevent and acknowledge their fook up there which is more than you can say for the Catholic Church. People aren't sending their boys in the numbers they use to anymore. Letting girls in is saving the organization from dying and breathing new life into the program that has been run by a lot of women prior to them being able to participate at a young age.
To those bitching about prog filth infiltrating these orgs, then why isn't your arse there pushing your agenda? You want to help out and improve it. Participate... We went out and placed flags at every grave throughout our national cemetery before memorial day, doesn't sound too much like prog filth to me.
As for alternatives, yeah Trail Life is terrible.

I've got to admit, this is way down my protest list. It is right behind "Misleading porn titles" and "The Covid vaccine, in fact, not making me magnetic".

The hell they taste the same.
The Oreos are FAR superior. Put a couple of them in a food processor to powder them up, then sprinkle them on some good vanilla ice cream and get your fatboy on.

Amen to this. Back in the 80’s and 90's those Samoas were off the chain, I could damn near eat a whole box in a sitting if I wasn't careful. Now they are very much meh and way too expensive. I don't buy them at all anymore
