There are about 10,000 above our heads. and another 3,300 inactive just whipping around the Earth at 7,000 mph.

Imagine if Elon was putting up weapons that could be used to attack earth in some way or destroy other satellites disguised as internet for all.

I had that high thought the other night, actually, Elon secretly sending up supervillain-tier communication shite waiting for the right moment to take control of all the weapon systems on Earth.

I don’t know what it was, but a month ago I saw a string of satellites moving fast across the sky I stopped counting at 15.

It was pretty cool looking at it.

It’s been a family hobby for a dozen or more years to find bits of “space junk” (a lot of rocket bodies, some satellites, other stuff we put up there) on a clear evening.
I’ve gone as far as to buy a green laser pointer so we can circle what we are looking at to show others (kids) who struggle to find it.

Heavens above is a great website for information on what you’re looking at (and where to look if you aren’t familiar with the practice of tracking/watching/finding iridium flares)

You don’t have anything to worry about until you start seeing the satellites spreading contrails.

Yeah and what he is doing internet wise makes so much more sense than all the wires on the ground.

There's a thought that fills your mind
A vision of time
When knowledge was confined
And then we wonder how machines
Can steal each other's dreams
From points that are unseen... It's real

I’m out watching for “shooting stars” from Perseids and saw 5 satellites with my unaided eye in 20 minutes. That seems a bit much. If it were 5 helicopter's/airplanes it would be too much. What say you?

I’m a pretty big fan of my phone being able to show me where I am on a map, with an accuracy of less than 10ft, no matter where I am on the face of the Earth.

As long as they don’t routinely fall out of the sky, I’m not terribly concerned.

frequency of satellites passing above our homes

If you are worried about frequencies, these are ones you need to be worried about if you want to frequency adjust your tinfoil hat:

10.70-12.70GHz
13.85-14.50GHz
17.80-18.60GHz
18.80-19.30GHz
27.50-29.10GHz
29.50-30.00GHz
37.50-42.50GHz
47.20-50.20GHz
50.40-51.40GHz

Those are the frequencies used by Starlink to transmit data between the user and the satellites orbiting the planet in low earth orbit only a few hundred miles up.
