g. They lock the door at 10 pm, but other than that, anyone can come and go off the street.
When I asked about security she said: We have a repairman on call if you have any issues.
Leaving now. Will not return to this city.

Bet I know where you got dim shoes.

I go into the french quarter maybe five times per year and I'm very close. I thought it felt similar five years ago TBH.

Wait, so a bouncer got in a tussle and used a stolen firearm to shoot them?
What a dumb arse.
What a dumb arse.

Which hotel? All decent places need to be hiring security

When we sold out townhouse in the Quarter, we did so knowing it was not a place where we could comfortably grow old.
We didn't foresee just how right we were going to be. (Stick shift cars were never stolen.)
City was fast to remove flowers left on sidewalks where murders happened. I wonder if anybody bothers to lay flowers any more.

I thought Landry was beefing up state law enforcement presence down there. Is that not happening. I have been to the FQ several times over the last few years where I didn’t see a single uniformed NOPD officer. Anecdotal I know, but take it fwiw.
He def has. Police presence is certainly improving.
The double shooting was a bouncer who shot two guys who tried to jump him.
Not sure what the stabbing was about. Could be anything in the quarter

the French Quarter is relatively safe. Bourbon St is not

He’s most likely full of shite. He also happened to bring his son to the only Pels game he’s been to in years and it just happened to fall on pride night.
He’s got a knack for being in the wrong place at the wrong time it appears.

Katrina washed a lot of the bullshite 70 miles to the west, further greasing Baton Rouge's skid to shithole status. We don't need another dose of that.
We were fortunate enough to collect a lot of NOLA's BS in Jxn, MS too. Jxn was in decline prior to Katrina, but NOLA refugees finished it off.

It's like the lowlifes save money by getting stoned and drunk at home, then around 10:00 say "let's go to the Quarta!!'".

New Orleans and/or the State needs to take a page out of the French playbook. When tourism is your main economic artery, have armed soldiers posted up on every corner of the tourist areas.

The violence this year in the FQ has been shocking to see. I have zero desire to step foot in that part of town.
Maybe Latoya thinks she'll pick up some helpful tips to combat violent on all of these speaking junkets about climate change?
Just in last few days:
Man stabbed
Double shooting on Bourbon at 7pm
It is a heavily alcohol induced zip code.
You will never ever no matter who is in charge get this fixed without stricter laws which we both know cant/wont pass because or revenue. Probably NOLA's only brightspot.
