Honestly that song was terrible.
Not trying to be a dick, it was just a terrible song

McAfee - “These people have gotten drunk, slept it off, got up and got drunk again, then had to wait three hours to get drunk again”.

And you could do better? What’s you’re list of hits you had that made millions?

It's lowbrow and cheesy because it relies on maximum bombast, theatrical excess, and pop-infused commercialism rather than understated artistic grit. The opening keyboard fanfare is repetitive, leaning closer to a carnival or circus calliope than gritty rock-and-roll. It's superficial, over-produced, and style-over-substance. While intended as a dramatic, atmospheric reflection on humanity leaving Earth for Venus, lines like "We're heading for Venus" strike many listeners as melodramatic, simple, and overly earnest. It's mainstream ear candy.

in the studio were able to smooth out the rough edges, overdub backing vocals and a harpsichord break

Fluffy probably suffered the same fate in both ears.
ASPCA should bust that woman for cruelty to animals

You are not alone in this thought.

That whole album was odd.
The Final Countdown - inspired by Bowie's Space Oddity,
Cherokee - an upbeat song basically about the Cherokee removal on the Trail of Tears
Carrie - a generic power ballad that basically sounds like the guy is breaking up with the girl and trying to keep her from getting too upset
Danger on the Track - guy gets jumped when he comes back for his girl
