The fallacy of testing everyone to open

I live in Houston TX , does the government really think that the half a million illegal aliens here are going to show up and be tested ?
Any given day, I have a dozen or more landscaping crews drive past my house to cut neighborhood yards. They go to the same stores that I go in, they touch things and they don't wear masks.
Not knocking these hard working guys, but they don't give a shite about the virus, they want their cash for services rendered.
As soon as the order is given the 400 plus chinese massage parlors here will starting giving out happy endings again.

One can only hope.

It’s moving the goalposts. Widespread testing of the population is not happening in the near future.

The government can't even give away money quickly and efficiently.

This is a reasonable expectation no matter where you come from.
It took a pandemic to make bleeding hearts in the US finally consider the health and safety of illegal immigrants.

I am not being tested or taking a shot.

I have a feeling that employers will be well within their rights to not employ people that refuse submit to vaccination and/or antibody tests. There are many examples of this long before COVID-19.
Edit: For example, TB skin tests, meningococcal vaccine, HepB vaccines. The above scenario is not far fetched, no matter how much we know or feel about it.

Those Mexicans hate China more than Americans. Plus most are already wearing masks if they are on landscaping crews. You must just have shoddy crew.

400 you say? Hmmm

That’s not to mention that you can test clean one day and contract it the next. Universal testing has never made sense to me.
Do we universally test for the flu?
We don’t live in a static world, as much as the totalitarians would like for us to...

There's no chance in hell that I would ever get a vaccine that's being rushed to market

looks like there will be several approaches.
it will be a point of interest to see how they are made available.
i know kaiser Permanente is testing one an md in Seattle came up with.
i just saw a story about a 2nd israeli approach.
pitt medical school is on one.
and johnson and johnson bought a company and got nih backing. that will be the long slow track.
gates moderna will beat j and j to market.
i would volunteer for israeli#2 based on what i read about it.
there will be those who will never get one of any origin.
same as flu a and flu b.

That would be me. I've never gotten a flu shot and won't be getting this one either. I've had the flu once in 20 years. Know who gets the flu? People who get flu shots. I know it's kind of a chicken/egg thing, but if I got the flu every year I would maybe consider it, but for now I'm letting my body and common sense keep me well.

Completely disingenuous individuals refuse to acknowledge that the initial goal was to prevent hospital overruns.
They are too frightened to accept that we accomplished that task and, as you said, they are moving the goalposts.
