What is taking so long to create something here?

It’s right off the interstate. You’d think someone would take advantage of such a highly visible location.

It’s amazing what a little drug deal gone bad with a fatality will do to a location

I’ve always said that whole place should be a destination nightlife venue. You have a nightclub, a rock club, a wine bar, a country bar, etc. you can go to one or you can pay an enhanced cover for admission to all. Moving betwent the clubs would be indoors through the center of the building. Shared back of house and stock. You could throw in a restaurant or two as well. I think it would make money.

They were in the middle of remodeling that building and then stopped. Not sure why.

Also a check cashing place and a wash and fold joint.

Sounds like a Graham Central Station.

It'd be nice to not have to drive all the way to Florida Blvd when I want to sell plasma as well

I noticed that a few weeks ago. Passing by that all the time I don't really pay attention, but for some reason, on that particular day I just happened to look & I thought about how lifeless it looks. It can't be good for Hooters, because at first look, once can assume even Hooters is closed.

Baton Rouge and south Louisiana could take a few pointers from Shreveport and north Louisiana for urban development.

The trash on the side of the road, up against the median, on I-10 in Baton Rouge traveling west bound (didn't check east bound today) looks like a landfill out at BFI.

The rent is ridiculous and the landlords don't do anything to make the area attractive. The plumbing is absolutely fricked there as well.

There was an article in the Business Report a few months ago about it and it’s owners...Hartley/Vey. Basically they have limited motivation to improve the property given their ages and the cost vs. the return, nor do they have the desire to sell because it’s paid off and then rent $$ is good.
