Not with the type of neighborhood close by. I remember clicks hip hop night. That was chaos. Same thing would happen

Last I heard, which was a year or two ago, it was supposed to be an Aveda Institute. Not sure what happened. Seems par for the course in Baton Rouge to just dump it and leave it as is.

It’s a shame how much urban decay exists all over Baton Rouge. Could the city buy up these deplorable empty properties, then demo and auction off the property?

The BR city council is holding off for a multi cultural golf place, bottom golf

It’s expected to draw quite the fabulous crowd.

There was an article in the Business Report a few months ago about it and it’s owners...Hartley/Vey. Basically they have limited motivation to improve the property given their ages and the cost vs. the return, nor do they have the desire to sell because it’s paid off and then rent $$ is good.

good guys that created some really nice and classy residential developments in BR. most people don't know, but they made highland road "hot". it would be a shame to their "legacy" if this property became some sort of "typical BR eyesore" while they are in the final stages of their carriers.

I've heard we will move our store from there.

Damn that Hooters has been there forever. BRs original location, right? Where would they move to?

Not sure. It's rumor at this point as I haven't heard anything from our owners.
However, my bet is we will move it and look towards campus.

I’ve always said that whole place should be a destination nightlife venue. You have a nightclub, a rock club, a wine bar, a country bar, etc. you can go to one or you can pay an enhanced cover for admission to all. Moving betwent the clubs would be indoors through the center of the building. Shared back of house and stock. You could throw in a restaurant or two as well. I think it would make money.
I can tell you're not a developer. That's a horrible idea.

You’d think someone would take advantage of such a highly visible location.

Historical DWI check point/choke point. You would have to be insane drinking there after 9pm.

Wasn't that area a Duff's Buffet restaurant back in the day? Like early 1980s?

You got one thing right, the bar hopping on foot concept is sought after from the French Quarter to Austins restaurant corridor.
