- A fraction of the carbon footprint to that of even a tiny combustion engine car, which significantly reduces air pollution.
- Gas mileage is absurdly better, even double to that of a car or truck, which would significantly reduce our energy consumption, and natural resources we pump out of the earth.
- Takes up less mass to that of a car or truck and would thus decrease traffic congestion and improve the sheer amount of air pollution overall because people would be getting to and fro much faster.
- Significantly reduces that amount of space necessary for parking.
- Puts significantly less wear and tear on our roads to that of larger vehicles traversing our streets.

add in less mass, so less materials required to construct, transport, less energy to build and distribute

Yep, and it's because the roads ar filled with dipshits on their cell phones weaving all over the road and pulling out in front of us without a care in the world to our safety.

Opps, didn't see you....

Well you'll think of us everytime you look at your mirror hanging off the side of your vehicle by the wires.

I'm talking completely out of my arse, but I have a hard time believing that even with absurdly relaxed emissions regulations that a motorcycle is anywhere near the same realm as a regular car.

The reason a bike is more fuel efficient works against it when looking at emmisions.

Looking from the other way, a car can't put out any more emmisions than a motorcycle under their standards. Obviously this puts cars in a far more restrictive class.

But you are correct that motorcycles, by design, would likely never lose that much fuel efficiency to align with car emmisions.

Are you the kid that rolled coal over 4 cyclists in east texas several years ago. I thought that person was convicted of 4 counts of second degree murder.

Bicycles are a gateway vehicle.

Isn't England banning sales of petrol cars by 2030? I think its all petrol vehicles regardless of type or size. This is a conservative government doing this, not environmental wackos.

quote:

I say this in light of these wack jobs pushing for ever more green zones in England which strictly regulates or even bans any and all vehicles from entering certain areas of the country, as if people won’t just drive around those areas and produce the same amount of carbon still, even more given the increasing amount of congestion and miles it takes them to get to their destination. None of this makes sense. Can anyone help me wrap my head around this insanity?

This is more about congestion in cities and localized pollution, not greenhouse emissions, and is really directed at large trucks, buses and older cars. And they aren't banned, they just have to pay a fee to drive in these zones. But if you have a car that conforms to euro 4 emissions standards, any car built after 2006, there is no fee. And if you live in the zone you get an exemption.

They pay an enviro wacko tax to travel and their travel is proposed to be monitored and regulated depending upon their occupation, etc. Other areas are proposing all out bans on travel in order to encourage foot traffic. All in all though, yes, it is environmental wackos behind every bit of it, stemming from the WHO and other unelected wack jobs who are pushing these agendas to soft brained dreamer types within actual government in the country. The end result is the same, causing even more congestion elsewhere, and creating ever more carbon footprint as a result of people having to travel further to get to their destinations. It’s always the same…. Symbolism over substance, and making the common man pay for their big thoughts that popped in their collective noodle.

Mr. Badass here, justifying being an a-hole based on probably 1/10 ratio of valid times.

Makes me want to get a motorcycle to announce my patriarchal phallic symbol to the woke as I drive by. I should probably make it a large one as well.
