The craziest weed story I've ever heard...

True story first hand from the guy it happened to. I know both guys involved and the 2nd one fully corroborated the story.
Back in high school (20 years ago), some of the guys who smoked would make a "round trip" as it was called. Basically, just to get out of the house, they would leave town and drive about 10 miles South. Make a left turn and drive about 5 miles East. Make one more left turn and drive back to town about 10 miles. The whole route took about 30 minutes and just drove through the rural country side.
On this fateful day, they had just made their second turn on to the home stretch. They were puffing on the roach as they topped a hill. To their surprise a sheriff's deputy was parked sideways across both lanes with his lights on about 300 yards down the hill. They quickly throw out the roach and roll down the windows. The stop about 50 yards shy of him and he waves them to pull up to him. They do and the officer approaches the drivers window. The following conversation takes place.
Deputy: "Hey fellas, we got some over sized heavy equipment coming out of these woods. The last truck is coming up the... Have you boys been smoking marijuana?"
Driver: "No sir."
Deputy: "Well it sure smells like weed. How about I hold y'all here until I can get a someone with a dog here to search your vehicle?"
Driver: "Sir. Yes, we were smoking, but all we had was a joint. We threw it out when we topped the hill and saw you. I swear."
Deputy: "Well, I'm technically doing private work escorting these vehicles so you have two choices. 1. You wait here until back up arrives and let them sort it all out. Or 2. I let you leave and you drive straight to the city police station and ask to speak with Officer Johnson. I'll call ahead he'll be waiting for you. I promise you won't be charged with anything."
Unsure of what was going on, they opt for option 2. Of course the passenger goes through the car with a fine tooth comb on the drive to make sure there isn't even a seed in the floor boards. They arrive and walk in to the front desk and request officer Johnson. The receptionist grins and says they are waiting for you down the hall. Second door on your right.
Still unsure of what was about to happen they walk down the hall and knock on the door. A state trooper answers the door, turns back to the room and announces, "Our boys are here!"
The door swings open and in a class room there sits about 50 state police, sheriffs, wildlife and fisheries guys, etc. all staring at them.
They were all there for drug recognition training. The ability to identify people high on drugs. The sheriff that originally stopped them had set it all up.
Anyway, they get brought to the front and the situation about the stop on the highway is described and how they confessed to smoking pot.
Then every single cop takes his turn approaching them, smelling them, looking at their eyes, asking them questions, etc.
It lasted about an hour.
After that was done the guy leading the class shook their hands, told them thank you, and let them leave. Their car was never searched and the original deputy kept his word.
The end.

Better story. When I was at LSU, one of my buddies with BRPD called me and arranged for me and five of my friends to come down to the Academy one afternoon. They had a full bar, with a licensed bartender, set up in a classroom. They had us start drinking and every couple of drinks they would take us into another room where a new Academy class would give us DWI tests. We spent the entire afternoon getting loaded on the city and then they drove us, in police cars, to a bar and droppped us off. It was glorious.

Did this with LSP. They do it somewhat often.
It's a good time

I changed some of the details to protect the guilty. I think we've talked about it before and know some of the same people.
