I had read that Bancel was stepping down from Moderna. I guess that was false or he changed his mind. Before joining Moderna in 2011, Bancel was CEO of bioMérieux, the French company that built the Wuhan containment lab after he left. So I got that timing wrong but it's interesting that Bancel is connected to Wuhan indirectly.

The strange saga of how France helped build Wuhan's top-security virus lab

I don't have the link but but an official source reported that Fauci granted to Ralph Baric was given a $60M contract by Fauci. That's apparently one of the smaller amounts given to Baric.

According to an article written by Jeff Carlson and Hans Mahncke in the website HEALTH, PUBLIC HEALTH POLICY AND THE LAW, contracts granted to Ralph Baric over the years were at least as high as $262 million. The link to that article is below.

Taxpayers Paid $262 Million to U.S. Virologist Who Worked With Wuhan Lab — But Court Rules He Can Hide the Data

The article contains a link to an NIH site that supposedly lists grants received by Ralph Baric. I can to to the NIH site but I can't get to the list of grants.

One source that I read reported that the largest amounts that Fauci granted to Baric happened soon after Baric was subpoenaed to testify about proximal origin of the virus.

I went to a show at Gruene Hall during peak COVID (relatively short period of time in Texas, thankfully) They had us walking in the front door with masks, we could walk through the dance floor in front of the stage and out the back door. If we didn't keep walking we were ushered out the back door. We could then get back in line at the front door to walk through again to listen to the music. As long as we walked in circles we were safe from COVID. That was their theory.

Nobody is holding China responsible because SARS-CoV-2 was engineered at UNC Chapel Hill by Ralph Baric with $60M he got from Anthony Fauci. Baric gave the virus to Peter Daszak of EcoHealth Alliance for transportation to Wuhan Institute of Virology for testing. The level one containment lab from which the virus "escaped" was constructed by a French biotech firm led by Stephane Bancel. Bancel would subsequently become CEO of Moderna Corporation. Bancel quit Moderna after cashing in for $1B helping to crash the stock.

Never forget that over 30,000,000 died needlessly from a medical misadventure that was either accident or intentional. The excess expected death rate is higher now than it was when people were dying from acute COVID.
It's a very interesting post. Almost nothing in it is accurate, but details like UNC Chapel Hill by Ralph Baric and Stephane Bancel w/ Moderna make it sound quite convincing.

First off, there absolutely was a French Lab associated with aiding the Wuhan Inst of Virology (WIV) to gain BSL-4 status. It was CIRC in Lyon, France. That is another interesting detail touched on in your post.

However, Stephane Bancel of Moderna was never employed by CIRC (or even associated with it, AFAICT). Bancel joined Moderna as CEO in 2011. He came from BioMérieux, where he was CEO. MRNA (Moderna) stock, on which I made a ton of money during the pandemic, is still 50% above my 2020 purchase price (though I admittedly sold all of mine in July 2021, following a few swing trades). Nonetheless, Stephane Bancel remains CEO at Moderna.

I could go on with the inaccuracies, but here's a more accurate iteration of what I think what we're going to find:
The Chinese operated (and still do operate) the most poorly run BSL-4 Lab on the planet, the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV). Regardless, the Chinese have loads of natural coronavirus reservoirs at their disposal. Meanwhile, we had a Gain-of-Function (GOF) zealot, Tony Fauci, heading NAID at the NIH. So the WIV venue was attractive to Fauci et al from the outset.

Then Obama placed severe restrictions on US GOF research. Fauci, GOF zealot he was, circumvented the Obama restrictions by inviting the Chinese to do the work at the WIV. Baric et al in Chapel Hill showed BatLady & Co how to perform GOF on coronavirus, and her team (funded by NIH => EcoHealth) went to work in Wuhan. Everyone was happier than pigs in mud.

Then a CCP stooge (a 30-something y/o woman whose sole qualifications were a BS in Biology out of Colorado and CCP loyality) was "in charge" of the WIV. She began cutting corners to impress her CCP superiors with cost-controls. Foreign observers rang alarm bells about WIV lagging staffing, training and safety for a full year prior to the CV19 accident. The WIV was a ticking timebomb. In Fall 2020 an inevitable pathogen release occurred.

As soon as China realized WTF they'd done, they began efforts to cover up origins, and spread CV19 globally so China would not be differentially impacted. They packed infected/exposed folks onto international fights up to the moment travel was shut down.

Fauci, who'd audaciously proclaimed in 2012 that even if GOF work were to cause a pandemic it is "worth the risk," went into maximum cover up mode along with the CCP. The Natural-Origin-Zoonosis-Bat-Soup-Wet-Market bullshite arose from their cooperative efforts. To this day, there are folks espousing the idiotic natural origin premise.

The CDC's role was beyond suspicious as well. As the US braced for the first CV19 wave, the CDC convinced private companies to cede all CV19 test kit manufacture and component substrates to CDC-Atlanta. "Somehow" every subsequent kit the CDC manufactured was contaminated and unusable. It left the US wide open to spread unless we went into some sort of National quarantine.

So, in summary, I believe we'll find the WIV release was predictable, but not deliberate. The NIH funded WIV GOF work, especially in light of known WIV safety issues, was likely criminal, as was the CCP-NIH cover up. The CDC failure was either deliberate and criminal, or the most catastrophically stupid episode in the history of American science. Once the pandemic was alight, efforts to use it to help elect Potatobrain flourished.

A lot here ate it up.

The main OT thread was titled “PEOPLE ARE COLLAPSING IN THE STREETS OF WUHAN” until about mid-May
I vividly remember the buildup to the lockdowns here. How the Honkus Saga was a preview of what we would see here a few months later. We thought what he was going through just to leave was ridiculous and in hindsight, we ended up going almost a extreme as a nation and places like NYC were nearly identical.

I will say that there are times that I do miss some of the crazy workarounds. Virtual med checks. Wrestling in the Thunderdome ESPN and FS1/2 splitting up the live AFL games to fill air time. Even the crazy Korean baseball late at night. (I do not miss football games in empty or nearly empty stadiums, the NBA bubble, nor seeing Fauci throw out the first pitch then going over to sit shoulder-to-shoulder with two friends in the stands.)

Aside from how it affected watching sports and entertainment, the restrictions didn't have that much of an impact on me. I got more time with my kids and I didn't have my wife bitching about my sleep pattern (whe was in an "essential" job so she spent most of her time working or sleeping).

Now this bird flu... My reaction is "not this shite again". I don't think they're going to be taken as serious. We've seen the buildup before and I'd like to believe we won't fall for it again. Hochul is already angling to take the DeBlasio approach. If anything, hopefully people will finally view the illegals as the strain on our resources that they are.

If you ever wanted to know which of your neighbors would have turned you in for hiding Jews in 1930s Germany, now you know.

I believe I had Covid at the very early stages of it. Had the fever and trouble breathing everyday for about a week. It was awful. Worse than any kind of flu bug I have had. Once it started expanding everywhere we came to the fact that it must have been Covid. I was very lucky. With me already being sick with my bowels and being a sloppy drunk I’m sure my immune system was pretty poor.

IIRC, you thought the timeframe was Fall 2019. Given that, IMO you had standard influenza, which can be an awful respiratory disease

The world truly has not recovered. People are way more mentally unstable now. It brought out the worst in people.

As short as he is, I doubt he'll ever be hung, town square or not.

I never was the conspiracy theorist/government boogeyman guy until all of that crap. That shite changed it all for me. I now firmly believe out piece of shite politicians have sold out the American public to other countries for their own personal wealth and gain. Also, the Dems cheated their asses off in 2020. I would've laughed at all that shite before Covid. Not now.

I dont understand stuff like this. How is taking percautions against something so deadly a bad thing?
Not saying you even had to believe any of it.
But trying to make people feel bad or wrong for doing their best to stop it by taking caution just seems wrong

Good Lord, you people are drama queens, or you're all very soft.

I was in the thick of it, and didn't experience any of this personal ridiculousness.

(My apologies if you're being sarcastic)
