I’ve never been inside but I’ve been driving past it for 30 years and it looked derelict 30 years ago.

I dont understand how they “aren’t close” to be ready to start awards. Don’t they scare these dances in real time? And give out awards based on those scores??

How long does it take to put scores in tank order?

Every routine gets a trophy and there are about 150 team routines plus the 11 final solos

Yeah, I coulda did without her saying “aren’t close” the only scores that should need tabulation are the finalist solos for Christ’s sake

I do have a generic button/pin for midsouth from when I saw Stagger Lee wrestle Bob Roop? Paul Orndorf? Ted Dibiase? in a match where if Stagger Lee was unmasked and was JYD, he’d be banned for life.

Late in the match, Stagger Lee was knocked out with a foreign object but the referee was also knocked to the floor and was incapacitated. Stagger Lee was able to put the mask back on and pin the opponent as counted by the revived referee.

I saw Stagger Lee’s real identity but I will take that information to the grave.

Went to LHSAA Volleyball state championship games at Cajundome the last two seasons. Horribly managed venue. Closed concession stands before the Div. I teams even got to play at night. Parking, bad. Not enough employees. Huge arena, but it wants to host small events.

Volleyball state championships when hosted at Pontchartrain Center in Kenner, would draw 4,000 - 5,000 people. Cajundome, even with local Lafayette teams playing, didn't draw 400- 500 fans per game. Sad.

Cajundome over promises, under delivers.

Bahaha…was at the same one. My son and I were in line for popcorn and finally got to the counter…ran out of popcorn. After waiting all that time, we both agreed it was time to go. Never going there again.

As to where ULL falls in the pecking order of schools, I would say that they fall on the fringe between forgettable commuter school (SLU, Nichols) and beloved alma mater (LSU, Tulane). That's why this gets contentious. There's conflict between the "commuter school" people and the "beloved alma mater" people- and that conflict exists both within the University and between the University and those outside.

Tulane has no place in this conversation.

The pecking order is simple.
1. LSU
2A. UL
2B. LTU
3. All other schools
4. SU and Grambling

Here for a dance competition.

Place looks like it hasn’t been updated in 30 years and hasn’t had a deep cleaning in 10 years.

Bathrooms are gas station dirty

Concessions are terrible

And these people really think this is a “flagship” university

The state just gave athletically self-funded LSU enough money to renovate the PMAC because it's such in bad shape, and you're yelling at clouds about the Cajundome.

The irony.

But isn't it well-established that the Cajun Dome, where I live here in Laffy, got 20 million $ for renovations in 2016? ULLs ongoing complaint has been playing second fiddle to LSU, but they still got this money.

How much did it help and why the shitty contract concession service? It used to not be this way.

They did get the money, and the arena itself is the nicest in the state next to Smoothie King Center. And the state just did the same for LSU and the PMAC. That is why this is an absurd thread to start.

As far as the concession service, the Sudexo deal is done through the university. That's bureaucratic decision making. But let's be real here. You go watch the Tigers at the PMAC or Tiger Stadium. Are their concessions anything to brag about?

Hell, it is free admission to the women’s bball games and they can’t get anybody to show

Wonder if that is common for non Top 25 or other Sunbelt teams. Outside of LSU, South Carolina, Iowa, or UCONN would you go to a women’s game?

Probably not. They used to play in a much much smaller gym on campus but the current Women’s coach wanted to start playing in the Cajundome (12k capacity)
