The butt hurt from flag burning is so severe that it is now illegal in Iberville Parish

I get it. Flag burning can cause major emotional distress, especially if you or a family member fought for the burner's right to burn. Since the butt hurt is so bad burners/kneelers should have that freedom taken away from them.
I see this as disrespectful to the people who died defending freedom. It is taking hard won freedom away.
Also, how tf are they going to enforce this? It's going to cost taxpayers a fortune.
edi: what is next? life imprisonment for burning a bible?

Burning flags in Iberville Parish will cost those involved up to $1,000 and/or some time in jail, under an ordinance the Parish Council unanimously adopted Tuesday prohibiting desecration of the American flag, Louisiana flag and parish flag.

"I encourage you to protect our flag so that we never show disrespect to those who lost their lives fighting for us," James "Fry" Hymel told the council on behalf of the Westside Honor Guard. "We see our society crumbling around us. … If we can't respect our nation's symbol, then just what can we respect?"

I'm assuming it's invalid given that the Supreme Court has already ruled on this.

So, how is someone supposed to respectfully dispose of a tattered flag now? Drive into one the more progressive parishes bordering the Land of Rodie?

The US Supreme Court says otherwise.

Yeah, good luck getting that to stick, Iberville.

We are American son. Get on board or GTFO.
Hopefully more places enact a similar law.

Contact your local Boy Scouts; they do these ceremonies all the time

Either they are idiots or they know these laws are Unconstitutional and are trying to score cheap political points with Jingoism.

Did anyone take a knee during the meeting?

Side question: Can you randomly light something on fire in a public place? (whether its a flag or piece of paper etc).
Not leading you with the question, asking it on face value.

Who is more American? The one who follows the law as set forth in the constitution? Or the one who follows a BFE parish ordinance?

Just like tranny bathrooms, this law is searching to solve a problem that doesn't really exist and will just bring out outrage from the other side for no reason. I'm sure there's hoards of people in
fricking Iberville Parish burning the flag.

Is this the same parish that tried to outlaw saggy pants, shorts, and skirts? The answer is yes:
