They do exist. We got pregnant a month or two after our first anniversary and I was still in school but rushed to graduate. As soon as she found out she was pregnant, she was stoked to exit the work force.
Stayed home for 15 years and after the kids were both 10+ went back part time. She’s welcome to quit anytime.

I don’t know if that poster was trying to be “edgy” with his comment or not, but I will say that I can see where the story in the OP doesn’t best exemplify the point the OP was trying to make.
If Sheffler had shot 80 on the course instead of 71, they were in no danger of not being able to pay the light bill, mortgage and put food on the table….and in fact would still enjoy a standard of living better than 99 percent of people in the world. That’s not exactly a ton of adversity that she was faithfully standing by him through.
