This, exactly. Mountains in July / August beaches in October / November. Basically, contra flow with the necks.

Great idea if you don’t like skiing in the mountains or swimming in the gulf

Were the kids wearing gym shorts as swim suits? That's the universal signal for being a child in a poor immigrant family.

So you just go on vacations to do the same shite you do at home.

Got it.

Sure am glad I can go to SC beaches with limited access (not Myrtle) and enjoy small crowds, wide beaches and waves rather than cram in with poors on the Gulf Coast in waist deep 90 degree water waiting to get killed by a rip tide.

Heading to Bald Head Island, NC next weekend. I won’t be able to throw a ball far enough to hit the nearest person not in my group.

Worked beach chairs in Destin area for 4 summers in college. Some uninformed ppl in here, in Okaloosa county (Ft. Walton and Destin) the beach is public land and you cannot set up (have anything planted in the ground until 7:30am, so it’s basically just a race between beach service and the general public which turns into a shite show. Once you get to Miramar you’re now in Walton county and the beaches are mostly owned by the condos/beach houses. But the kicker is that they only own up to the highest water line so wherever you can visibly see that water has washed up to, that is considered public land and you can set up right there even if it’s in front of beach service chairs

To hell with that. I have lived in Orange Beach all my life and that's bad enough. My second enlistment I bought a beach house in Sneads Ferry when things were still affordable and we still own it. Head there every labor day week for our beach getaway.

But thank you, Gulf Coast, for keeping all those fatties away from Sisters.
