The average weight for women in the U.S. is 170.8 pounds, and the average height is 5 feet, 3 inches tall.
I am over 9 inches taller, and my weight varies from 168 to 172 during the cycling season. Carrying my weight as an out of shape dwarf seems miserable.

Yes, I did. Have you not heard of weight training?

Yes, it’s extremely hard to achieve athletic performance at that body composition.

A good weight for a male is roughly 105 + 6 lbs for every inch over 5 feet tall.

Dated a woman like this. Certainly didn't have a 6 pack, but wasn't fat either. Her arse was nice and she had a huge rack.

Portion control.
Eat whatever you feel like, just don't eat all of it.
We eat gumbo out of a bowl barely bigger than a ramekin. Meals out are sparse and are shared apps or one entree, with a to-go bag.
I LOVE food. But if you let it be entertainment over sustenance, or an emotional outlet, you will get fat. One of my favorite things to do is read menus and come up with new things for me and mfiwd to cook.

Every country now a days when you travel have become overweight.
I just returned from France. The young ladies were jogging all over the place, all very slim and pretty. They mostly wear skin tight outfits so you can see everything they got, if you get my drift. Oh yeah, the guys were running, too. Beyond that, everyone is walking and riding bikes. It's a very fit culture.
It also helps that the food in France does not contain all the salt, fat and sugar that we consume here. Even the American food brands have to modify their product in order to be sold in France.

Ask them to rate themselves and the rating they give themselves is almost as high as the scale.

The fact that the meat they eat was raised using growth hormones, and everything is sweetened with high fructose corn syrup, doesn't help either.
Doesn't help either? That's the biggest cause.
Back in the day, choices were fairly simple and weren't full of shite quality products with shite ingredients.
Second biggest thing is probably technology making things easier leading to people having sedentary lifestyles.
