73 districts did what SG wants to do.
How successful have they been?
That’s the question.

Taxes paid by home and business owners in Zachary, central and the like go to fund those specific towns, correct? If I’m understanding this correctly then you believe that people that live and own property in BR shouldn’t pay taxes to BR?

Really? I think he’s a naive idiot but never found him any more racist than the average prog.

I actually have a strong desire for a good public school option in EBR, and it boggles the mind that it seems to be an after thought for most that it’s even achievable while people continue to move out of the parish for just this reason. This harms the parish fiscally and creates a greater divide between those that remain in the parish.

The Louisiana Way is to send your kids to private school. Just work to keep your property taxes as low as possible and send your kids to private schools.

Do you think that’s where the country is at this point?

Louisiana spends mid 20s per pupil among the 50 states and has 48th ranked schools. Maybe if we spent top 5 we could get to #45?

I believe Mary Olive Pearson wrote that article it’s that one sided.

Even says SG wants to break away from the parish. It never says Dems in the legislature advised SG to form a city.

Total smear.

I think it’s pretty bad . Most people they think it isn’t usually have only lived here.

La may get less bang for the buck than any other State, except Alaska

He’s definitely dropped some bombs. But I just laugh it off due to some prior posts he’s made which indicated him to be the most insecure, pathetic poster on here. Including GCS.

I’ve worked at all types of schools. One thing I’ve learned over the years is that parental involvement solves all solvable “problems.” The St. George motives are obvious, and the fact that I don’t even have to say it for people to be bothered by what I must be thinking confirms it.

So why has EBR school district declined while private schools thrive and seemingly Zachary and Central thriving as well? Did the people leaving EBR district schools for private schools or forming their own school district cause district to lose too much of this parental involvement to overcome solvable problems? Otherwise things should be no different.

I’m talking relatively. The violence is largely segregated. Is it worse than other places? Sure.

But St. George isn’t the S Side of Chicago or even the N side of Baton Rouge.

Hell, most of BR isn’t that bad.

Stay away from crowds of miscreants and you can live a relatively peaceful life.

That's such a slap in the face to actual segregation.

I graduated from Central. The schools weren't terrible before but immediately improved when they split away from EBRPSS.

It’s a lazy thought offered by you, and it’s unfortunately very common.

Please explain how my thought is lazy?

I went to Louisiana public school for my entire schooling, and I would put my education up against any Louisiana private school. It just wasn’t in EBR. I can assure you there likely isn’t a public school in EBR where you can simply move into the district and get the education that I have been pleased to have experienced.

He was incapable of understanding why everyone doesn’t live within biking distance to their occupations in a thread a month or so ago. He’s just some moron spouting off bullshite because he thinks it makes him sound intelligent.
