You know why they are there? Because you’re listening to them.

These people won’t go away until their listeners and ratings plummet. But jere we are, people continue to give these people platforms.

They won't respond to low ratings if the government keeps propping them up.

Pull the funding.

I see/hear these female talking heads on the media, especially NPR. They think they are the smartest kids in the room, and their voices drone and the ends of their sentences
wind down into a complacent "erhh" from the backs of their throats.

I'd like to slap each one in turn.

Is this the kind of voice you're talking about? That woman has the "I'm the smartest person in the room" voice going then busts her arse.

I hated listening to William F. Buckley speak. Ultimate snobbish sounding sob.

Everything about NPR is annoying. The only people I've ever known to listen to them are liberals. Very smart liberals, academically speaking, but liberals nonetheless.

For every annoying vegan there’s at least 100 annoying anti-vegans.
I don't know if it's that lopsided but there is certainly some truth here. I've been on both sides of this and while there is undeniably a large subset of vocal and annoying vegans, a lot of people would be amazed by the amount of comments and hate that the average vegan gets even when they don't try to push their views.

Person 1- "Here, try a bite of this dish."
Person 2- "No thanks, I'm not really hungry."
Person 1- "Oh come on. Just one bite."
Person 2- "Really, I appreciate it but no thanks."
Person 1- "Oh, come on. Just one bite."
Person 2- "Actually, I'm vegan. I'm sure it's very good though."
Person 1- "Why are you trying to push your views on me !?!?"

Planet Money is still okay. I just rarely have time to listen anymore.

The left wing slant on some of their other programs got a lot less subtle 3-4 years ago, so no big loss.

Aside from being conservative I don't think Shapiro belongs on this list. I find him to be pretty reasonable, data-driven most of the time. A lot of the right doesn't like him because he doesn't love Trump unconditionally either.

His voice is truly terrible though.

I listen to NPR and Shapiro podcast to try to get a balanced take on national things.

they feel the same about southern and country accents.

you are so identified with your local/regional identity, you are sure your farts smell like lavender.

He’s been unequivocally better than the previous few and considering who he beat to get the job, I’d say he’s leagues ahead of what she would’ve brought to the table. It’ll be the same this go around as well.

Back to the topic at hand, Ira Glass’ whiny little bitch voice gets on my nerves.

there is a reason they rely so much on public funding... but in their little echo chamber.... the branding of that voice works very well in the halls of snobbery

My understanding is that NPR is way ahead of this problem right now and are currently working on a typically lefty type plan to teach their announcers to imitate Larry The Cable Guy in order to trick us all. Be vigilant y'all.
