Yes, I remember it. Went there to catch Tiger Basketball road games on Tiger Vision. As for Fun Fair Park, my favorite ride was the Wild Mouse.

I went there about 10 years ago and noticed how decrepit and dated it looked.
I think this is called ´hobo chic´.

You definitely own or are good friends with the people who own the new batting cages that just opened up.

I miss fun fair park
When I was little the kiddy car ride with stop signs ruled.
The I puked on the tilt a whirl, went to bathroom to clean up, and rode the wild mouse a few times. Then got back on the tilt a whirl.
Wild mouse rocked and monkey rocked big time!

Anyone remember that Mexican restaurant by it...I think it was called Chi Chi's.
Putt Putt and Anchor Marine were all in that area by FFP.

They even still have the same hand dryer in the restroom that they had like 13 years ago.

You're thinking of Coates

anyone remember the old putt putt place on Veterans blvd in Metry? this was pre celebration station, I think not far from Gambinos

So to be clear, you're upset because you had to use a fully functional hand dryer that was old?
I said that to bring light to the fact that they haven't really changed anything about the place. I'm sorry, but I don't subscribe to the "if it's not broke don't fix it" school of thought. If that was the case I would have a house full of shitty old appliances, and I would be driving a beater with over 200k miles on it.

I miss putt putt. I had many a date in high school at the Celebration Station in Metairie.

My uncle's buddy used to run the go karts at the one in Metairie. Jesus, that's what 12 year old dreams are made of.
Fun works was also awesome. I think it's a Mexican church now

what's the deal, NOLA can't keep those type of places open...
Posted on 9/16/15 at 3:33 pm to chalmetteowl
Well, the one in Metairie was pretty damn big, and I'm guessing pretty expensive to run. During the winter/rainy months, basically all of their outdoor activities are shut down. That is go karts, batting cages, bumper boats, and putt putt.
I don't know why fun works shut down. The place was always packed

Holy shite. That place is still open?
I miss the theater that was behind Ichiban on Essen. That was the best place to go see movies because no one was there.

Grand cinema is the only place I'll go to watch a movie nowadays
That place is great. Last time I went there was no stupid commercials, PSA's or even previews. The movie just started when it was supposed to.
