Picking up a suburban that looks just like this next week. First restoration project. Hard to believe I'll be driving a 40 year old truck down the road.

It’s amazing how fast society, fashion, transportation, culture, etc advanced in the 20th century.

And has stalled out since 2000.

But yes the 80s was the greatest decade by many measures.

I had one of those. Drove it until the timing chain broke and I couldn't find a mechanic willing to try to fix it

You realize, if you like listening to 80s music, you are like someone in the 80s who was still rocking to Benny Goodman and the Glenn Miller Orchestra.

90% of the music I listen to is from 60s through the 90s. Most music today sucks

70's through 90's for me Seems a lot of younger kids like that music better as well.

I'm not saying I don't (I like all kind of shite like that myself), but how many popular radio stations in the 80s can you remember that were playing the Glenn Miller Orchestra regularly that teens (or even 20 or 30 somethings) then liked to listen to a lot?

I think it's probably an illustration of how much the 40s to the 50s-60s was such a sea change as far as popular music goes than anything. It's just sort of funny to think of relatively speaking.
