I’m sold. Interested to see what the hybrid options are. I want to cruise around the ranch in electric mode and stealth hunt pigs.

I like how the screen doesn't stick up out the dash like everything does these days.

Quit driving some asinine midlife crisis mobile that pretends to be sporty???

Who the frick drives an RX as a mid-life crisis mobile?

Maybe a Urus, Bentayga, Cayenne GT, Stelvio, DBX, Levante, or next year a Purosangue but ain't nobody soothing the mid-life itch with an RX.

That would be a very sad midlife crisis.

At launch there is a GX550 model with a twin-turbo 3.4-liter V-6 engine with 349 hp and 479 pound-feet of torque. A hybrid will come later.

There's also an off-road-oriented Overtrail trim with 33-inch tires and a locking rear differential.

The 4.6 V8 made 301hp, new modern V6 and twin turbos and it makes a whopping 48hp more? There are 4-cylinder turbos making nearly 400hp now. Different suited enginge but saying the technology is there to make more. I guess the hybrid will be for those that want more power w/ better fuel economy.

Toyota/Lexus have been knocking it outta the park lately with their redesigns. Wow, this looks amazing! I like how they kept the GX more boxy & rugged. Lexus is clearly going after the Defender crowd with this one!

Overtrail comes stock with 33” Toyos and front and rear lockers.

Disappointed to hear I can’t get that one with a 3rd row.

Why can’t you?
That trail version won’t have one, but the rest of GX line-up will have them

Of course

After years of waiting for something like this from Lexus, it hits right as I absolutely have to have 3 rows

The good news is they'll probably keep the body style the same for the next two decades

Every increase in specific output more or less reduce durability in an engine. Toyota seems to be keeping their crown of reliability/duribility in mind, which is a good thing. The HP is barely over 100 per L which is still in N/A range but the torque is a pretty significant increase and shifting the torque down the rpm range will do more for the truck than the HP will. The extra 150 pound feet will be a big difference depending on how much extra weight the 2024 gets and how it is geared. The GX has never been and shouldn't be a stop light monster. As long as the transfer case has a low range, especially with the 10 speed tranny beit will have enough torque multiplication to able to pull anything within the adhesion of the tires and then some.

Again depending on the weight I think the horsepower is in a perfect range for drivability and longevity. It was never going to win a drag or roll with something like an X5M.

I like the redesign, but am happy with my 2023 purchase. I am just not on board with the v6 and the turbos for ONE mpg better than the v8. (According to TFL).

Yeah I know I wanted the overtrail with all the off-road tricks and 18s with AT with the third row. I’ll just get one of the others and swap the wheels but it’s just a pain in the butt.

I’ll probably have to get a luxury to get the MTS, crawl, lockers, etc.

That MPG was disappointing. Hopefully it’s at least a little more fun to drive at least with all that extra torque. Still holing out for the hybrid numbers with almost 600lbft.
