If you are going to own a late 80's Bruick there is only one choice

My Barber had a Reatta, from what I remember it had a rear engine? Or am I mistaken?

I think you're referring to the Pontiac Fiero.

Pontiac Fiero.
Had a neighbor on Marshal Foch in the late 80’s who had one, briefly.
With the luggage rack on the trunk, the targa top open, and a hot blonde driving it like shite, those things were fly.

mid 80s Montero had some bogus AOA or attitude indicator in it, was pretty hokey
My '86 4Runner had that and an inclinometer and level indicator.

My Organic Professor had a red one just like the one in your pic. It was pretty awesome for it's time.

Chrysler New Yorker
My uncle got one at one point and we all heard it say, “A door is ajar,” for the first time when he drove it home.
We laughed and said a door is a door, not a jar!

The Bruik Grand National engines had a bad habit of catching fire and blowing up.

The auto-reversing cassette player is cringe. Compact discs were plentiful in 1989.
while they were out, it starts off with only one model having an oem cd player, the lincoln town car. Then it eventually goes to only one model coming with a cassette, and that was lexus sc430 in 2010.
