Let’s just say that many of us have visited the area from which you were launched.

Wasn’t Bennett’s.

“this is a picture of a flooded Memorial Stadium back in the summer of 1970. Local promotors, Gordon Ogden and Jerry Comeaux, had the stadium filled with 3.5 million gallons of water for a water ski show.”

Good time at Bennett’s in the late 80’s.

I loved delivering pizza's there from Zachary and eyeing the girls.

My daughter went to the ski school for 6 summers and had a blast. They have kids from all over the world there at all times.

Jay and Anne are old hippies and started out on False River. If anyone remembers the old wooden ski jump on the Island side north end that was theirs. We used to sit in a boat and watch them jump for hours.

Did gymnastics with a Bennett kid. That shot is from East to West, where is the Capitol? It should be due West.

It was a good time. My cousin Chris held the record for longest ski jump in the late 80s/early 90s. Lived out there at Tri Lakes.

Back around 1968 my dad took my brother and I to an Istrouma football game there. That was before the freeway was built and you park across the street at the old glass shop. We starting leaving before the game was over and was watching the end of the game from the south end zone. One of the teams scored and kicked the extra point into the hedges that were there at the time. My dad told my brother to go grab the ball and we hightailed it across the street to our car at the glass shop. We listened to the end of the game on the radio and the announcer was saying the refs and players couldn’t find the football in the hedges. We kept that football for decades.

My father is probably in that picture. He ran with Jay back then and won a couple national skiing championships in the 70. He was one that skiied in the stadium when they flooded it.

You might be a redneck...

Though Bennett wasn’t the sponsor he was part of it. My wife’s uncle was also part of the shenanigans at the event.

International students were still flocking to Bennett’s when my kid went.

I went to several Grantland Rice Bowl games there and saw Terry Bradshaw when he was at Tech and I remember watching Grambling one year.

I played a few BREC games and a couple high school games in that stadium as well.

We did that too, on a kneeboard. Good times. Was NOT fun to hit a clump of floating ants
