Thanks Nurse, I did say no, and no thanks. I explained that I can't eat those things, etc to no avail.

But hey, they know better than me and my nurses and docs, right !

Seems everyone also has a 'cure' to share. Oils, baking soda, etc.

Gingerkitty,
No reason for you to be there. There are some nice resorts with room service and spa facilities. Take advantage and warn five people that your home should be cleaner than when you left, the liquor cabinet better stocked and only good vibes left behind.

It will comfort you to know my house once had wheels on it. They were removed about 90 years ago but I guess any house that was made with wheels on it is a trailer, right?

Explain this. Do you live in train cars? Trailers were not made 90 years ago.

Antique Louisiana streetcar actually from the 1920's. A hidden jewel on the bayou that few locals even know about.

But it once had wheels so therefore it qualifies as trashy living according to the ot, lol.

Yep. I can’t get out of Christmas, but we went to the smokies last Thanksgiving and are going on a cruise this year. Love getting out of town for this holiday

We go to lunch with my FIL at a state park for lunch, then go home and I smoke a turkey breast for ourselves for dinner. There's just the two of us, and our families never invite us over.

Our plans are to combine our parents at my in-laws house. No one else is scheduled to come this year. Occasionally my wife’s unmarried aunt visits but not this year. Much more fun when she comes.

My parents pretty much ruined their relationships with my extended family so the whole “large family get together” is a distant memory for me. I’d love for us to have a big 20 person party with family and food and beer and fellowship. But it’s always a quiet affair nowadays.

Same for Christmas outside of my wife’s brothers actually visiting. Neither of them have kids. One is married but his wife has her own huge family and rarely comes in to spend time with us who are admittedly pretty boring and dull compared to what she can have at home in Texas.

So the holidays are kinda dull and depressing but I try to be grateful for what we do have.
