Sad to see NTH going under. I think this continues to happen over the next several years in the micro-brand space. It's like the craft beer phase, just too diluted for everyone to be successful.
Today is the FXD on the Erika's Mirage with black hardware that came in earlier this week (very happy with it), and donuts for the family.

Currently wearing my Moonswatch on a bond NATO like the one in the picture.

But damn the size, elegant shape and proportions of the Daytona are so much better if you ask me. I have a like/indifference relationship with my Speedy. I have the new 3861 version (Hesalite, because I like the look of the bracelet better than the sapphire version), and Omega finally got the bracelet right, in fact it is one of the best non-Rolex bracelets out there in my opinon, and I think that is saying a lot. The watch just comes off as a tad big and a tad round, though that shape which gives it a reasonable height or lug-to-lug of 47 mm, coupled with the way the end links fall on the new version is what makes it at least wearable to me despite the 42 mm nominal case size. It is also a sticking point with me that the Speedy has only 30m water resistance compared to the 100m for the Daytona.
I still expect to have get a Daytona from my AD, they have come through with a 126710BLNR, 126711CHNR and 124270 for me in the last year alone, so I'm hoping a 126500LN is forthcoming in the not too distant future.
So speaking of recent calls from the AD,today it is the aforementioned 124270 36mil current iteration of the venerable old Explorer. Though 36 mm nominal case dia, on the calipers it actually measures 35.6 with a height (lug to lug) of 43 mm. The 19 mm lug width and aggressive bracelet tapering to 14 mm (16 mm including the clasp) along with the nice curve from mid-case to lugs give it a vintage look to my eye. A supremely legible three-hander and great for an everyday watch.

The 124270 is such a killer daily driver. I’m coming down between snagging a Black Bay Pro to scratch the itch this year, and waiting to see if the grey market drops a bit in ‘25, or just hitting the AD now for the Explorer. I’ve been quoted about a month turnaround for the 124270.

Me too. I found them, and then they were gone. I agree-I don’t think the current market or the one going forward will support the number of microbrands out there, especially with the falling price of luxury and semi-luxury time pieces on the gray market, which many of these microbrands have been alternatives to.
Doc Vail had a great run with NTH. I’ll be buying some spare parts and bezel inserts.
Today’s wear and a couple from this week (all NTH, of course):

That's a nice SKX781
I got that Expolorer by surprise. I was at the AD chatting about my wishlist and mentioned OP 36 mm, and maybe a week later got a text that they got an Explorer 36 and 40 and offered either to me. It was an easy decision.
I like the BB Pro, but its a bid different feel from the Explorer. I sold mine to a guy who was just getting into watches and was talking about buying one, I didn't wear it much and it just seemed like a good place for it to go, hard to beat a local sale.
I'll nitpick the BB Pro and say I don't like the rivited braelet, but I understand the heritage behind it. Maybe could take issue with case thickness as well, but I love the way the yellow 24 hr hand looks. Not much else wrong with that watch though.
Can't think of anything on the negative side of the ledger for this version of the Explorer. Hard to imagine you won't really enjoy it.

Garmin instinct tactical this week. Finally sent my marathon off to get repaired, can't wait to get that back.

That’s the exact Rolex I’d wear if I could afford one.

Orange face on a dive watch just looks proper to me. I like em.

The old school Exp II styling on the Pro is awesome and agreed on the yellow 24 hr. hand.
I was in London a couple weeks back and am kicking myself for not going to take a look at a Harrods Black Bay:

Got my watch back from the repair shop. They buffed and polished it. The crystal still has one tiny nick in it.
That’s a nice refurbish.
I’ve got a very slick Grand Seiko and wear it a lot to keep the spring drive charged. The downside of that is more banging into desks and doors etc. Debating how often, if ever, to get it polished.

Eww no don't. To me they look better a little bit banged up.
Tudor FXD is going to be my promotion gift for myself, hopefully by the end of the year. That seems like a real practical watch.

FYI if you want one you can buy it online straight from Harrod's. Also the BB41 smooth bezel "5-link" bracelet (Jubilee) fits on it, looks great and is a combo I would consider if I could pull off a watch that size.

Custom jobber. Created by LumeLab (look on Etsy, I think), but I put the magnesium bezel insert on it.
