This statement is as bad as liberals on twitter talking about firearms.

Will be interesting to see what the Tesla semi gets fully loaded real world. Elon says over 600 miles and supposedly test drivers have gotten 500 with a full load and with a battery pack that only adds a ton to the weight of an empty diesel rig but I'm skeptical.

Based on what we saw with the F150 Lightning, there is no way an all electric semi truck is possible or even close to economical for companies

you want an electric truck for work and pull a decent weight trailer you will have to be sure your work space is less than 40 miles from home.

Hybrid at least gives you fuel options when the need arises.

I see hybrid’s becoming way more popular. EV I’m city, gas on highway. Best of both worlds. I am extremely ignorant on the availability or production of trucks, but are there hybrid trucks out there?

I’ve said it ever since they announced an EV truck.

They are never going to be a viable alternative for someone who really needs a truck. Guys that haul cargo or pull trailers for any significant distance.

They are only good for around town trips to Lowes or Home Depot and the such where you don’t have to worry about where you’re gonna charge the damn thing.

You think they will have swappable battery packs in a couple of years?

For trucks and SUV’s I don’t think hybrids will ever be mainstream. Hybrids have been around for a long time now and very few manufacturers have tried them in a truck/SUV. Chevy tried and failed, Jeep has the 4xe but I don’t think it’s a true hybrid system. Probably better to develop a high efficiency 4 cyl turbo for those purposes instead of a hybrid.

I have a 2022 F150 Hybrid and I love it. It has a 27 gallon tank and a range of 600 to 700 miles. I get between 22 and 25 mpg. It's a 4 door XLT 4WD

Yeah, I really don't understand why this isn't the default option of the manufacturers. You get some battery, and more miles out of every tank of gas. Seems like this should be the focus, at least for trucks and road trip vehicles.

I’ve been posting about similar experiences and ev crowd gets so butthurt. Go up some hills and it’s toast. Add some cold weather…even worse.

Dumbass gov trying to force all this BS and it’s not even a viable alternative for many people.

You don’t even have to be towing a boat. Load a Tesla up with luggage and kids and your battery is dying fast.

To me electric vehicles are a second vehicle and used for trips close to home. A truck/SUV is my go to vehicle for long range reliability.

Like a golf cart used to cruise around the neighborhood, just bigger and safer for getting on more major road ways for quick trips.

Not at all. 75% of truck owners haul something once or less per year according to Strategic Vision, an automotive consulting firm.

Every battery powered piece of yard equipment I own has been a better experience than their ICE counterparts. You simply have to use the right tool for the job.
