Some fricking idiot on instagram was saying the guy was going to jail because he didn’t wait for them to get in and there was no immediate danger because the door held.
I don’t give two fricks what the law says I’m shooting through the door and not waiting to see if they get in.
Texas has the castle doctrine... Empty the clip

13 years ago when I first bought my house in here in Katy TX, we had someone try to break the window on my back porch and get in. They were using a big mechanic size crescent wrench and left marks on the window and just dropped the weapon when they couldn't break the window.
I called my local PD and showed them what had happened. I was naive and thought that they had to enter my house before I was allowed to do anything. The cop straight up told me to open the door and "put six shots" (pointed at his chest and said) "right here"!!.
i was like "alright then ! "

Did you watch the video? If you’re equating the two instances you’re a moron. No, a MORON.

The idiot knew he had a Ring doorbell and was filming him. He was on camera with no mask.
What a dumbass.
What a dumbass.

All citizens deserve a defense, no matter how heinous the crime

All citizens deserve a defense, no matter how heinous the crime. It's literally in the 5th Amendment.
But only a public defender HAS to defend them. Everyone else makes a conscious choice.
Just because they have a right to a defense, it doesn't mean that lawyers who choose to defend them are beyond criticism.

That's really not Oak Cliff where this happened.

Is there any logical reason why the guy trying to break in the apartment should ever walk free on the Earth again?
Premeditation
Deception
Violence
Armed
Breaking in a home
Endangering bystanders
A child lived in the home
Indisputable video evidence
Lengthy criminal record
What scenario would allow this person to ever be free?
With all that said, what is the predicted sentence? 20-30 and be free in 10 years?

He had to know his face was already on video. He’s apparently not very bright.

My eldest Aunt shot and killed an escapee in AK just shortly after statehood.
Her husband was working the oilfield and she was home alone with infant twins and 2 other small kids. Said she warned him but he kept trying to get in so she shot through the door with her 12ga. Peeked out the hole in the door, saw he was dead and drove about 20 miles into town for the sheriffs.
Said sheriff drove out, said no worries as he was an escapee just lend a hand loading the frozen corpse in the p/u bed. Said she never heard another word about it.
Aunt was tough as nails. Another time a husband (she outlived 4) went “moose hunting” and found her dressing out a big bull moose in the backyard that wandered by.
