Arlington doesn't participate in the DART 1 cent sales tax funding scheme. Instead they took that 1 cent sales tax and gave it to Jerry and The Rangers. So I don't know if there will ever be a train to Jerry's World as there is no money to fund it.

How many times bigger is Dallas than BR or NO? BR is in dire need of road infrastructure upgrades and LA doesn't have TX money. You have to crawl bf you can walk.
What Louisiana needs to learn from Texas is that you need to diversify your economy, use your resources more effectively, and don't have your state politics completely and totally controlled by good ole boy, brudder-n-law corruption.
Commuter trains, though? What a joke.

Not everything in Texas is perfect. The Mopac project in Austin has been going on for almost 10 years.

Whats funny is that Louisiana lost a net of 10,000 people between 2017 and 2018 and I take it your still stuck there. Sorry to hear that.

Only 7 states in the country lost residents from 2017 to 2018, Louisiana had the 4th highest amount. Those 10K were college educated looking to better their life and families life.

It is partially a money issue, but only because 1) we haven't prioritized planning and funding infrastructure improvements and 2) we have a horrible track record of regional collaboration (including cost-sharing).

I disagree, it should be an option on the table if planned and implemented correctly. If it can be done in sprawling Dallas why wouldn't it work here.

The only place any sort of rail would be feasible is NOLA... and the people who commute to work, many of them have to cross a body of water to get there.
The cost of building a commuter rail line across lake ponchartrain and/or the MS river would be so expensive as to make it unfeasible for the size population we have.
People commuting from Metairie/Kenner don't have a long enough commute to justify taking rail vs car.
The Baton Rouge to NOLA line could work. But that's much more of a long distance train than what you have in Dallas or Houston.
The answer to the traffic problems in NOLA and BR is simple: Toll roads.
