ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) - A West Texas Doctor claims he’s found the “silver bullet” for COVID-19, but the treatment is not currently approved by the FDA.
Dr. Richard Bartlett works at various clinics around West Texas, and says he’s found a successful treatment for the coronavirus.
“The treatment plan is inhaled, generic budesonide,” Bartlett said. “Using some generic antibiotics to protect from a secondary bacterial infection. Using zinc, which interferes with virus replication. It’s common sense. It’s intuitive.”
Budesonide is a steroid, that can be inhaled directly to the lungs using a nebulizer.

Well that settles things, time to prescribe it nationwide
jokes aside, that sound promising but it's one doctor.. if he's really seeing those kinds of results then it should catch on quickly and undergo rapid trials.

I really hope this is what we’ve been waiting for but like most every other covid “breakthrough” or “discovery” there will be further research that shows it’s not.

According to him, it’s a very similar treatment they’ve used in Japan, Vietnam, etc that have kept their number to minuscule deaths
He blames the model we have adopted from China in dealing with this pandemic for the significantly higher deaths in countries like Italy, the US, and elsewhere.

The fatality rate isn’t high enough to claim success by treating ‘dozens’. He’s treating people at clinics. How many people show up to these clinics that would end up in the icu? He could be treating a bunch of 20 year old for all we know.

The guy is simply saying what he has seen, treated, and witnessed. It is worth the effort to check out, and if it can keep mild cases out of the hopital, it is a positive.

This isn't the Wild West anymore. We've moved beyond the age of the snake oil salesman. Except in the nutritional supplement industry.

Crazy. At the beginning of this steroids are what was suspected of making that Metairie lawyer's case so much worse.
