I’d imagine it’ll reach a boiling point in locked down states and cities when they see in the opened areas you don’t catch aids from walking outside without a mask

Depends on the place. I went to a place on Friday that was turning walk-ins away and planned to all night based on how many people they had coming in. It was packed.
Bywater American Bistro in NOLA just announced they totally sold all reservations for the entire month of June and it crashed OpenTable. Granted that's June.

There was ample space for more people...just no people.
Perhaps my experience was just an outlier, but I was really surprised to find very few people out. I think the media/government has done a pretty good job of scaring the shite out of the general public. Much more so than what this board would reflect. When I told some of my co-workers I had gone to a restaurant this weekend they said I was "crazy." That wasn't what I expected at all
My gym is one of the biggest in the city and it was completely empty when I went friday and monday. A place that helps you be healthy and in shape is empty because of fear of a virus that hurts those who arent healthy and in shape
This media driven and political driven panic is going to be so much worse than people thought because even when the restrictions lift, the spending and commerce wont go back to normal

It’s blows my mind how unsympathetic towards reopening that reddit has taken.
We are looking at commercial real estate market that might completely crumble, oil at an all time low and the state going broke on unemployment. I don’t really understand how you can’t sympathize for the people having to make these calls.

Actually, on the top post about this, a lot of the top comments are either in support of it or saying that it’s time to let the people make the decision whether to stay in or go out. Kinda surprising, but this news did just come out so there’s time for the voting to change.

We were in Orange Beach, and the restaurants there were absolutely limiting capacity, there were long waits but it seemed to be working.
