Texas A&M wonders why everyone makes fun of them and hates them

You have no idea how insane their fanbase is. There is a poem or something they have displayed prominently at the Bonfire Collapse memorial on their campus. This piece of work is top-tier cringe that in my opinion will never be topped; especially this bit:

And the drum major so hearing
Slowly raised his hand
And said, “Boys, let’s play The Spirit
For the last time in Aggieland.”

And the band poured forth the anthem
In notes both bright and clear
And ten thousand Aggie voices
Sang the song they hold so dear.

And when the band had finished,
St. Peter wiped his eyes

They’re meant for Paradise.”

Somewhere in aggieland, there’s a guy doing burnouts in a maroon truck while watching those videos and jerking off.

I married an Aggie. It's pretty amazing how normal most Aggies are until you start making fun of the yell leaders. There's just no argument to make this seem cool. I don't care about tradition. It's just incredibly lame. I will give them credit that their ability to organize the entire student section to do chants is cool in person. The problem is the chants are lame, too.

Don't. That is every single yell practice. It's a competition to out-bomb the other guys with your jokes. These guys knew exactly what they signed up for. In fact, they campaign for it because there is an election.
