GRAPEVINE, Texas - A former Chick-fil-A employee is accused of stealing more than $80,000 through a fraudulent refund scheme after being fired, police said.

quote:

Grapevine police said the investigation began in November 2025 after the owner of a local Chick-fil-A reported a theft. Detectives reviewing surveillance footage identified the suspect as Keyshun Jones, a former employee who had been terminated about a month earlier. Police said the footage shows Jones behind the counter without authorization, where he allegedly used the restaurant’s register to ring up roughly 800 orders of macaroni and cheese trays and then issue refunds to his personal credit cards.

$80k to a personal card? This isn't burger king, how did he think he wouldn't get caught?

$5k or maybe $10k is a solid hustle, $80k is just stupid

How is a former employee not in uniform able to go the register and do things? When is the counter area not full

Did he break in after hours or a sunday?

He was probably not alone, and the store definitely has a lax policy on register logins. I bet one of his friends let him in after/before hours when the store was closed.
