St Jude is only charity I will give to.

Too many are run by high salary people and just a small percentage actually does any good

St Jude is the only one I wouldn't be careful about.

All you folks that drop money to stuff like United Way, Susan B Coleman, etc need to take a peek at their 990s and check out the "administrative costs".

I played in the Toys for Tots bowl as a kid for the city championship in the 70's. Lost 8-6 in the final minutes. Damn Sherwood Falcons.

It could have been me affected by this.

Looking at that woman's picture I'd be 100% certain she was committing some type of scam without reading anything

So is St. Vincent dePaul. Give your stuff to them instead of Goodwill.

That looks like some stereotypical picture of a black woman from a comedy movie that was made before the politically correct days.

Can I get some clarification from mods about how hard in the paint I’m allowed to go on a human that looks like this?

I automatically assume that every charity is fraud now

Unfortunately that is often the case. My charity, Here to Serve, even runs into difficulty in finding places that will allow us to setup. They just KNOW we are a scam and will swindle them somehow. We usually try to setup in a church parking lot because they are usually large lots and have multiple entrances so we can deliver food in a drive through method. But often they believe we are a scam or fraud.

Sometimes it helps if I give them references of places we have been to before. We also work with EMA's and they can sometimes help us find a place.

I am in charge of finding locations, I try to have these contacts and agreements in place before a storm hits. After a storm it is hard to make contact and the everyone is busy with recovery. I have some contacts but not nearly enough. We will respond anywhere within 10 hours of Tuscaloosa, so thats Houston to Charleston to Tampa.

If you have a connection or a place where we could setup someday if the need arises please contact me at info@heretoserveinc.org. I would love to have a point of contact.

We are a 501 c3, and have zero paid employees, in addition to those of us who cook, even our banker, CPA and lawyer are all volunteers. Absolutely every penny goes to food, supplies and equipment. And we can only exist with donations.

And people who commit the types of fraud as this lady did with Toys for Tots, should receive the harshest punishment possible.

No, it’s actually more comical. I’m sure she portrays herself as a globe-trotting savior and investigator.
