Tired of this shite. Sick of paying inflated prices for liquor from a select few businesses.

I was in Oklahoma a long time ago and went into the grocery store and walked around it for 20 minutes before I finally asked them where the ‘liquor aisle’ was at. They looked at me like I had 3 eyeballs.

I didn’t know Texas had weird liquor laws too.

If that were the case it wouldn't have a time constraint on it at all. What is significant about 10am? Why is buying beer at 9am forbidden in Texas?

Good for you guys.

Put an end to that pointless, meaningless, arbitrary, puritanical bullshite.

My uncle never missed a Sunday at church, and he was a solid citizen, until his town allowed the sale of alcohol on Sunday morning. Then he just stayed home and drank.

and you believe that it should be the government's responsibility to make your uncle a good Christian, whatever that means?

This makes me very happy.

Now we just need to legalize marijuana.

Finally a little better.

One of the more disappointing events of my travel career. Arrive at DFW from BTR at about 8:00 on a Sunday, with a noon flight to Beijing.

Long layover, but “No problem” I think. I’ll just go to the lounge and get a little morning drink on, that way I’m best poised to crash on my 14 hour plane ride.

But thanks to Mr. Blue Laws, I got the “4 hours in an airport with no alcohol before a 14 hour flight” treatment, despite being in an airport on an International itinerary, when neither the fact that is was Sunday nor before noon had any actual meaning for me at that point.

I remember when liquor by the drink was illegal in Texas. Black Tie formals had whiskey bottles in paper bags on the tables.

It's funny, I thought Alabama had weird liquor laws until I moved to Albuquerque. Couldn't buy on Sundays until 12, and none on Christmas.

I move back to Bama, and I'm able to buy after 7 AM any day of the week.

You Texans need to move to Washington. Liquor/beer/wine everywhere like Louisiana, legal weed, legal gambling, no state income tax, and my property taxes are less than Texas. You can also walk around with open containers and no one says anything. I’m so free up here.
