Im sure many came through here with the misconception that Vets are these overly compassionate animal and PETA freaks.

Reality is just about all of them hate farel cats. You get pretty desensitized to animal deaths after having to euthanize them

I dont think anyone in here or on this site equates veterinarians with peta lovers. Overly compassionate yes.

Being desensitized doesnt mean 99% of vets dont think this is an extremely messed up way to put down a cat considering the entire story.

link?

I know plenty of DVMs that agree feral cats are problematic and need to be controlled, but I don't know many who would condone killing one with bow & arrow.

Didn't read thread.

Has anyone mentioned how many BILLIONS of song birds, lizards, etc. are killed by outdoor cats each year?

Feral cats are a menace and should be killed.

Killing it isn't a big deal to me. Holding it as a trophy and posting it is pretty odd and dislikable to me.

Billions each year, really?

According to the Washington Post and the studies it cites, yes, and that's just in the U.S.. They're a freaking small animal holocaust

Also, that picture they used for the "cats kill and eat lots of stuff" article is priceless.

Yes, billions.

People ignore it because they are all "ooohh, cats are cute" and shite, but they are a fricking plague.

Ridiculous that she gets suspended for that. If she thought it was feral, she could have called animal control and they would have taken it to a shelter where it would have been killed anyway. An arrow through the head is perhaps an unconventional way to euthanize a cat, but is arguably quicker and more merciful than letting it languish in a cage in an overcrowded shelter for a day or two before being killed with poison or whatever they use.

How is a bow and arrow a messed up way to put down an animal? It's perfectly fine from birds to fricking deer, it is not cruel to use a fricking bow to kill an animal...

Seriously, you need to leave the internet and go hunt something for food instead of getting shite from the grocery store or restaurants.

People shoot stray dogs and dogs that get out of their property all the time. It happens, do your best to keep your animals on your property if you have a problem with it.

Cats are killing machines compared to dogs.
