Price wise, nobody here is going to be able to afford the SpaceX version, but someone will get the intro version

The intro is still what? $250,000. I know Tesla is more than a car company but they are down to two models that your average consumer can afford or desire and those designs are getting up their in age. Bringing back the roadster was a great idea but seems like making it out of reach for the average consumer or even most wealthy enthusiasts is a missed opportunity.

Porsche revealed their new Mission S car of the future yesterday too. Just a few hours afterwards the world forgot about it because of Tesla who actually unveiled the future. Elon just put Porsche in the corner.

Just watched ramp video. I think that confirms it, Musk is trying to build an iron man suit.

Somebody where I work asked do you think he will build an ironman suit after watching the video. I was like considering he just built a car ironman would love, yeah. That's probably the next thing.

I get what you are saying but I believe that pricing is with the thruster package which would be ridiculous to think that would be targeted toward your average buyer.

Thats correct.. The intro model w/o thrusters is a $50,000 reserve. Way back in 2017 , when the 2nd gen roadster was announced I think it was projected to be around $200,000. I cant imagine it being less than a Cyber Truck so its still going to be out of reach for the average consumer. I wasnt expecting Miata pricing but something along the lines 60-80 thousand would be nice.

Glad to see the rocket thrusters . He’ll need them to blast away from the House and Senate subpoenas coming his way in 2027

Theatrics are part of his brand. He is an absurdly wealthy pioneer and visionary geek. As he said last night, success is not guaranteed. Hes using his wealth and influence to push boundaries and its awesome.

thought the same thing until my wife got one. Her model Y is awesome. The fsd is a complete game changer

Same except it was my friend, not my wife. And he felt the same way until his mom got one. Teslas are awesome/impressive machines. Once you drive one everything else kinda sucks.

Elon said FSD wouldn’t be available on the Roadster.

It was not about having FSD to use, but they have mastered or at least mastering the FSD technology. The Roadster might not leverage the FSD itself, but that us the core background tech that will allow the crazy that is cold air thrusters.

It is not going to let you kick flip in traffic, but basically when safe. FSD is built around real time analysis of surroundings. That tech is what will allow this to get certified with NHTSA.

The car cannot be launched into the air while sitting in traffic.

They certify the cars meet safety requirements for vehicles on US roads.
