Your friend lied to you. You can cancel the software update at any point in time, and continue your drive.

While that’s heavy for a car, it’s the same weight as a Chevy Tahoe. Extremely odd that it would be damaging your driveway.

Correct. Didn’t even think of that. Tesla brakes last forever because of the regenerative braking system. Huge plus.

The bumper is glued on. Lol. I know whistlindesiel is abusing vehicles way more than I would. But the bumper is held on by glue. Thats crap. Sorry not sorry.

I think we've identified the real issue, not the Teslas.
Oh I know. But those types gravitate to Teslas. It’s just like with Altimas. The cars themselves are junk of course but it’s the drivers that make them special.

If we're talking Tesla, it also doesn't update without wifi.
But per Tesla's website:
Can I cancel a software update once it begins? How do I resume when I am ready?
You cannot cancel a software update once it has started the install phase.

An EV is BETTER than ICE in an extended powerloss/evac situation.
Why? The ICE vehicle has better range. Are you basing this on being able to run your house with the EV battery? That further reduces your range, and is of zero value to those with home generators.

ICE consume more energy at idle than EVs. If you're in an evacuation situation you're going to be stuck in a lot of traffic and the ICE engine is running to just keep the HVAC, steering, and electrical running and will consume fuel at a higher rate than the EV will deplete the battery.
