and yes, if you want to putter around town and not actually take advantage of the 'so called' mileage than yes, maybe you can avoid 'just as much as gas' super chargers.
in the real world however, those are called 'gas stations' and people have to rely on them.

14.3.4 and beyond is an absolute driving game changer.
HW5, whenever it comes, will likely be exponentially better than a nearly flawless product now.
You have to actually try it to get it
Most people have never tried it so they dont get it.

Most surprising thing I've learned about Teslas is that battery degradation (over time) isn't really a thing that most owners will ever have to be concerned about.

Yeah it's really not a big deal. We used PowerWall data as a proxy for degradation way back in 2019 because we didn't have a ton of information. But the PW has the same cell architecture, BMS and is made in the same factories so it was a good example. They also get hammered with cycles. We were using OG PWs and PW2 with thousands of cycles on them and the data was favorable. And it's only gotten better.

It's really all in the battery management system. The thermal control is way better and thats what can really accelerate capacity loss. Older gen Teslas had much higher degradation but post 2020ish they've all been pretty steady. Home energy division was the real hero here since they did all the BMS work while the car division was designing the dumpster truck and FSD.

It will but it's going to take a while for the supply chains to develop at scale but the advantages of higher thermal tolerance (faster charge), safer operations (even less fires) and resistance to bricking at 0 charge will make some things better. They should be quit a bit cheaper too once they hit scale.

Friend on the way to a funeral out of town. stopped at a charging station and got a system updating message. Could not move until it completed . 2 hrs. Missed funeral . That’s reason enough for me.

There has to be major bias involved to say total cost of ownership between ICE and EV is the same. It’s not close.
