Musk even said it failed, it did not do what it was supposed to.

Tesla has never received any special treatment from the government. Any "propping up" the government has done for Tesla was equally available to all auto manufacturers. Strange reason to hate Tesla.

It’s designed to keep the object out of the cab. It did that job.

Yea, I've never understood this argument from guys who don't like Tesla.

Are they going to bring that same energy when all the other automakers are getting tax credits when they introduce more electric cars?

I’m consistent in my beliefs. I’m against govt handouts from welfare to age subsidies, to bailouts.

I don't doubt you, but the issue is many say this same thing but only seem to point out that Tesla does it while ignoring that every single other car company in America that sells EVs are open to the same exact opportunity with regards to tax credits.

I simply don't see anyone ever call the Fords and Nissans of the world out, I only ever see Tesla called out for it.

As for the bailout, Tesla repaid theirs 10 years early. As for the consumer EV tax credits, and the manufacturer ZEV credits, do you consider these "handouts"? It's not like it's just free money. You have to engage in specific behavior that the government is trying to encourage. Feel free to disagree with the goal, but the method is very similar to what is done in pretty much every industry. The government has a long history of incentives to do particular things, and the fossil fuel industry takes advantage of their fair share. Again, weird thing to pick on Tesla for.

There is very clearly a propaganda campaign aimed at Tesla. The government has offered Tesla absolutely nothing that hasn't been offered to every other manufacturer.

That’s one piece of the puzzle. I think everything they make is hideous. I think Elon is ahead of his time and has grand ideas, I just wish he would fund them privately. That goes for every company. I’m not picking on “just” Tesla for it.

It's pretty wild how many Twitter accounts are out there with 20k or more tweets and literally every single one of them are to bash Tesla. It's so strange.

Right. That's the reason why I mentioned to the one poster that it seems like only Tesla ever gets called out.

And what that does is for those who are ignorant or just don't care to do any research, they only ever see Tesla being called on this so they go on to assume the government is just giving only Tesla free money every year, you see guys post about this in most Tesla threads.

Well its a public company but to your point, the government isn't funding Tesla.

But back to my point, I literally never see anyone hold those other company's feet to the fire, only Tesla.

You said quote "I hate Tesla." Unless you have personally had a bad experience with a product, have you ever said that you "hate" any other car company? Probably not, because that would be absurd! But you hate Tesla. Even though every single other manufacturer took advantage of the same exact "handouts" to the extent that they wanted to. But you hate Tesla because why? Wouldn't you take advantage of any sort of tax break or subsidy that you qualify for? To not do so would be pretty silly. Do you hate farmers for taking their subsides? Or the oil companies for theirs? Or do you hate the government for offering them?

It is so extremely rare for anyone to "hate" a company (again, aside from bad personal experiences), yet for Tesla it is extremely common to hear that. There is obviously a propaganda/smear campaign aimed at Tesla. Do you hate any other companies? If not, surely you can see that you have fallen victim to the propaganda.

They are paying some customers in excess of 7500 to purchase a Tesla product.

Whether the same is available to other manufacturers or not does not change that fact.

I would say there are just as many Tesla disciples as there are detractors. Tesla, and Musk, can do no wrong in their eyes.

There is a long list of journalist that have had their professional and personal lives attacked by Tesla/Musk fanboi's and Musk has led them like a ringleader. While Tesla hate is unhealthy, the Musk cult is just as much.

Not any more but your point stands, and nonetheless, as I stated the government is not funding Tesla. Paying customers certainly helps a company but you can't say the government is funding Tesla, that is just not so.

Didn't say it did, all I've said for a few posts in a row now is why aren't the people saying this going at other companies for the same reasons....why only Tesla?

well special treatment could be defined many ways.... and in this case, subsidies is special treatment.

esla received $713 million in U.S. subsidies in Q3, compared to its $312 million profit.

I think because Tesla built their cornerstone on those government handouts. Ford and others had other income that wasn't as contingent on those dollars.

I'm fine with government subsidizing an emerging industry. No problem at all. Tesla fanboi's just try to write it off as if those subsidies don't matter.
