They were trying to be exterminated 70 years ago by the nazis. Think they give a shite about some terrorist animals who want them dead?

I mean the Arabs tried twice in major wars since then. It's not like they're strangers to people wanting them dead

Wow how retarded can you be? 3000 deaths and 6000 injured

Not to mention over a million dead in the resulting wars, literally trillions of dollars added to our national debt and a huge loss of freedom. Everyone had a personal connection to 9/11, it wasn't only an attack on buildings.

I disagree again. If this is ISIS, they're hell bent on bringing the world together to fight them on their land for Armageddon. If that is their end game, how can you possibly fight that without giving them what they want?

You don't. You give them EXACTLY the end of their world they are hoping for and move the frick on. Warheads to foreheads. Nobody wanted to have to fight WWII, either, but it had to be done.

43 killed in Beirut

Now attempting a social experiment. One comment was made on this the last time I posted it. People just don't care. Baffling. Obama speaks out when 26 were confirmed killed.

Drive all of them out of their land, give said land to the news. Make them watch it.

No, it's not, but it's still a capital city that these same bastards killed a lot of people in. Does it matter that it's Lebanon instead of France?

No. It doesn't. Clearly, to ISIS, Lebanon is as much an enemy as anyone else.

We can identify with Parisians and know Paris.

Beirut is "somewhere over there" and "over there," people get killed every day. You'd get a similar response posting something about Darfur in this thread.

Does it matter in what sense? Does it matter in that human life was lost? Sure. But people will pay more attention to something that resonates with them. An attack in a European city will resonate more than an attack in India. Or China. Or Africa.

I disagree. It's Western values, not religion.

I think it is important to separate the motive behind the leaders of the movement and the motives behind the people that strap a bomb to their chest.

These suicide bombers are brainwashed and led by people with ulterior motives, but the guy blowing himself up is doing it for religion. You're not going to kill yourself because Westerners are capitalist and relatively progressive, you're doing it because your faith calls you to do so.

Im not overly religious, but I recognize that religion is one of the few rallying cries that will galvanize a base and convict them do perform atrocities in the name of their god.

Again, I don't believe Bin Laden and other leaders were motivated by religion, but he made damn sure his followers held that belief, and they would willingly die for him as a result.

Sorry baw I remember the comment section in the wsj and it seemed like people cared just as much. Don't base everything off of TD sentiment.
