again

i'll re-port Gad Saad's quote from tonight

quote:

People yawn with apathy and cowardly silence whilst innumerable human beings are butchered on a daily basis. The solutions are as clear as the existence of gravity. And yet, people refuse to acknowledge the problem lest they might be sent to PC jail. I have been warning people for well over a decade. You might "escape" the reality but your children and grandchildren won't...

For real can we take the religious discussion somewhere else and talk about the fact that Frances presidents pretty much just declared war on ISIS.

it's only since the Enlightenment of about 500 years ago that Christianity progressed, and that was because western values were established, developed, and promoted which raised our standard of living to a point where Christian doctrine developed in kind.

Wtf. Western values were only established 500 years ago?

They do not want to live with us. They want us to convert or die. There is no learning to get along with these types of people. They don't believe in "you stay on your side and I will stay on mine". They want all sides and they will kill to achieve that. I don't know what the answer is.

Does this ever lead to mass exportation of all Islamic believers from a country?

I'm starting to think that extreme tactics such as this will begin to be considered.

I agree. It won't be guns. It will be WalMart, the internet, consumerism. Freedom is natural. It just takes other cultures longer.

Easier to convert less of them than more of them...just saying.

I'm currently reading "Fields of Blood: history of violence" by Karen Armstrong.... Anyone interested in exactly what's going on currently with this fluid situation should pick it up. I checked it out from the library earlier this week.

well there are seeds from other eras, but basically

the concept of personal property and property rights developed around that time, which is the foundation of Western values

add in some scientific method and the social contract of society that's basically the 3 pillars of western thought

I used to be very cautious about all Muslims, I really didn't care to distinguish. Then I got a onsulting contract in Istanbul and I have met the nicest people there. So maybe it's more an Arab thing not a Muslim thing?

i think this is a big part of it. persian/arab culture was shite and it just so happens that they were the early adopters of islam

but if you look at islam across the world through western eyes, there are very good even "decent" countries that are dominated by muslims

bosnia is basically the best and it's nothing to write home about

I understand your sentiment, but ISIS and pre-WWII Germany are polar opposites.

I love how this is now a religion thread.

Some people have a soft spot for islam. They'll drag everything else into the conversation to make it seem more sane.

Most Muslims are probably culturally Muslim, not fanatics. But, the fanatics are unparalleled in the religious world.
