Over the course of 6 weeks our system did 190000 temperature checks. ONLY 9 temps of greater than 100.4 were found ONLY 1 turned out to be positive for Wuhan Coronavirus. 190000 tests to find 1 positive case. This is the definition of a terrible screening test and waste of resources.
This really doesn't say much either way?
If 100 people tried showing up to work with contagious Wuhan and your checks caught one of them - poor screening
If the only person who had contagious Wuhan was identified - then good screening (just expensive).
Also, can't ignore the a theater effect. I.e. there were a few dozen folks who would have toughed out a fever at work - but didn't try because they knew they would be tested at the gate.
Mammogram reference doesn't count - not contagious.

You mean once again, doing something that inconveniences people just to say they were doing something was totally fricking worthless?!

Let’s be honest. Screenings have always been more of a CYA thing than a means to keep an infected person from coming in.

All the doctors I go to always take my temp as part of the check in along with BP before the Dr even comes in.
But I do understand what and why it was being done

I've always had a normal temperature around 97.2.

Same. Half the time the don’t even touch my forehead
It speeds up checkpoints if they don’t have to alcohol-wipe the thermometer after ever touch that contact would require.
