Dude looks cosplay not punk.
I’ll bet his clothes smell like fabric softener and he double checks his beard dye to make sure he won’t have a bad skin reaction.

punk culture is inherently counter-culture. thats why during the Reagan years, punk was Left because being Left was counter-culture. now that the mainstay culture is inherently Left (aka nearly anything coming out from Hollywood), theres now this movement to kill right-wing punk culture

John Lydon and Johnny Ramone beg to differ.

Their entire self-worth and self-perception revolves around their social identity.
Without the group they attach themselves to, they are nothing.

Rage Against the Machine is probably what Liz Cheney listens to in the bathtub as she sips on a glass of sparkling wine in candlelight.

Yes. It’s a mindset of being who you wanna be and not letting anyone else tell you who you are. It’s literally the opposite of “punk”.
It’s wild because in 90’s/2000’s the big government pro war types were the enemy. Now those old “punks” endorse the powers that be and their ability to restrict speech because they are seemingly on the same side now.

Regarding the subject matter of the OP, I would argue that today being conservative is more counterculture and non conformist and that right now it is more “punk” than not.

Additionally the straight edge faction has a lot of conservative points of view (and of course, a few contrary to it as well...)
Bottom line, "punk" is not any one thing. So yes you can be conservative and "punk".
