They absolutely think by dressing that way and being a liberal is what being punk is. That’s hilarious

That girl listens to Taylor Swift

The irony is lost on that yellow bearded sap. He’s talking about posers, but how poser is it to think that because someone listens to a certain type of music they now must a vote a certain way.

This poser voted for Trump and I’m a big Misfits, Ramones, Pistols, Buzzcocks fan from back in the day. Still
Listen to it along with some Replacements and Joy Division.

Seems like the most punk thing to do is reply to that with a GFY.

I find it bizarre how probably 10-15% of my high school dressed emo/goth, but you never see them in the real world. I never see anyone like this ever as an adult.

Punk died in the early to mid 80's.

Nothing since has been true "punk". Just punk wannabes

Brandy: I have to ask you something. Why do you go out of your way to look like a bum?
Steveo: I look like a bum?
Brandy: Well not in a bad way.
Steveo: I look like a bum in a good way.
Brandy: Aren't rebelling against society?
Steveo: To put that simply, yeah kinda.
Steveo: Umm you were saying something about the way I looked.
Brandy: Wouldn't it be more of an act of rebellion if you didn't spend so much time buying blue hair dye and going out to get punky clothes? It seems so petty. I mean stop me if I'm being offensive.
Steveo: Oh no, go right ahead. It's fine.
Brandy: You want to be an individual, right? You look like you're wearing a uniform. I mean, you look like a punk. That's not Rebellion. That's Fashion.
Steveo: Then what's Rebellion.
Brandy: Rebellion happens in the mind. You can't create it. You just are that way...

I really wish you had posted this yesterday b/c I had a great FB memory from either David Wong or John Cheese about hipsters from like 15 years ago that fits.

Summary is basically about how the counter culture quickly becomes the dominant culture.

You can dress like a weirdo like that guy, but he has no clue he's the true poser promoting the dominant culture. It's very sad and very funny at the same time.

Punk is counter culture. Believing everything corporate media says is the complete opposite of punk. Those kids are retarded.

And they used Twitter/X to post their opinion. They should stop and think about that for about 7 seconds...

Besides that, I found his examples of SOD and RAG as "punk" extremely funny. Neither were even close to punk. SOD was just anothet alt band and RAG was a rockier version of Public Enemy.
