I quit drinking after 33 years of being a functioning alcoholic who for 10 of those 33 years drank morning, noon and night. Jesus saved me after Covid and I don't crave ANY liquor or beer.
Another story....... When I was 10 years old, I was peddling my bike and my friend was on the handlebars and we were headed to his house when lightning hit right above us and my handlebars broke so we ditched the bike and ran to his house and neither of us was hurt but our ears were ringing. True story. Impossible? No, because it did happen. Did the lightning hit the handlebars? There were no marks on them so who knows?

Guy that works for me had a tire going down on a tractor so he pulled behind an old store building and called me to bring a service truck to air the tire up. While he was filling the tire I was walking around behind the old store and noticed a marble sticking out of the dirt. When I picked it up I also noticed the edge of a ring. The ring ended up being my Dads old high school class ring. He had lost it over 60 years ago. My dad passed away in 2013. This happened about 3 months ago.
We have a winner! This story is awesome and it had to give highcotton2 chills. RIP to your dad.

i was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. The treatment plan was for 30 days of chemo radiation, and surgery scheduled six weeks later. Surgery meant that I would nave to wear a bag, at least temporarily. A week and a half before the surgery date I went to the surgeon and he got me to do an MRI, as he wanted to see if the tumor had decreases in size. The MRI showed that the tumor had disappeared. He then did a colonostopy and took tissue samples and they biopsied as benign, no cancer detected. So surgery was canceled. My oncologist said that only about 5% of patients have their tumors disappear after chemo radiation. Two years later still cancer free.
doublecutter, God is good.

I have two. One is stupid and happened to me the other happened to my mom and I think about it often.
Mine. Hauling arse in a boat I’ve been hit in the head by a jumping mullet twice. Hurt like hell both times and the second one nearly knocked me out. Luckily I was the passenger both times.
My Mom’s. My dad died at the age of 57 of cancer 14 years ago. The only man my mom ever loved and she was having a tough go of it. About two months after he passed out of nowhere a cockatiel showed up and landed on a pool chair while she was sitting next to the pool drinking coffee. He wasn’t timid and to her surprise and shock he flew over and landed on her shoulder. She said she felt very calm after a minute of him sitting on her shoulder. She walked inside her house with him still attached. Once inside he flew and perched on top of the living room chair my dad always sat in. She went and bought a cage so she could take him outside with her and where he slept at night she would let him roam inside freely during the day when she was home. She really enjoyed having the bird around and was a welcome distraction and really helped her start to heal. 3 months or so after his arrival she went out one morning and he was not in his cage. The door was open and he was gone. Two weeks later in the local newspaper that my mom got (very small town so mostly human interest crap in it) there was a story of a lady that lived 20 miles away and her new best friend a cockatiel that had just appeared at her home one day. This lady had also recently lost her husband. I know this sounds like crap but I swear it’s true. The story of the other lady was in the DeQuincy paper.
My mom said Jo Jo (what she named him) knew he was needed more by someone else since she was feeling better.

I was driving on LA 70 near Morgan City and my car got struck by lightning. About caused me to soil my drawers AND it oxidized all of the clearcoat. Literally turned it to powder.

I have two:
In junior high during a rainy day, we had recess in the gym. Some of us were playing basketball and then the bell rang for us to go to class. The teacher told me to put up all the balls so I'm gathering them up and then there was one straggler left behind on the other side of the court.
I grabbed it, chucked it and made a nothing but net full court shot....and NOBODY fricking saw it.
I worked with my great grandfather's younger brother for about 5 years and didn't even know it until he died and saw the obituary.

This is kinda Redneckish but:
I killed an 8 point buck and caught an 8 lb bass in a 5 day stretch in 2020.
I've hunted and fished all my life and had never done either, nor have I since

I was reading last night that back in the 90s a little boy was tickled by Ronald McDonald in a McDonalds ball pit.

My grandfather was born in 1842 which is 182 years ago. He was 83 when my Dad was born 99 years ago. My grandmother was 18 when she got married to a 64 year old. My Dad was their 7th child, all boys.

the first time i ever bowled i got strikes on the first 3 frames.
one the 3rd hole of the first round of golf i’ve ever played i got a hole in one.
im absolutely horrible at both golf and bowling still to this day, so it was obviously just ridiculous luck.
