The predator hunting ban was not passed. That got a lot of attention after a former Broncos player killed a mountain lion that was killing a lot of pets in Nederland. He posted a picture which got a lot of attention due to him being known and the cat getting a lot of news attention beforehand. Hopefully that issue will die down now.
Interesting parts of hunting/fishing in CO… You can access water only by public land unless you are a land owner. Land owners control the river bottoms so a person can float down them but are trespassing the second they touch anything but water. A CO resident can get an OTC bow elk tag. There are a lot of elk and a lot of public land to access. In the south, a lot of hunting is done on privately owned land so you have to pay to own or lease. Unfortunately public land has a ton of pressure like Pass a Loutre for ducks or Bogue Chitto for deer so I wouldn’t consider that great access. Less than 5% of Texas is public land, CO is 43%.

If I moved to Colorado, I would probably move to the Grand Junction area. Colorado is pretty liberal in many aspects, though.

Denver also does not enjoy the convection that most high altitude desert areas enjoy because its in a fricking bowl and the overnight temps often remain within a 5-10 degrees of the highs. Most high desert climates will have miserable hot high temps but over night lows drop into the low 60s. Not so in Denver.
This just isn’t true. Go check summer temps. Denver hasn 25-30 degree difference in highs and lows each day.
Also, very little bugs here with the exception of the annual miller moth migration for a couple weeks in June.

Sorry. It’s beautiful. Period.
That said, I’d avoid living in Denver. Work there and commute from the western side.
And minimal fatties.

Humidity is not bad but summer temps reach triple digits regularly in July and August and can do it irregularly during June and September.
Denver had 6 days that reached 100 degrees in 2024. It almost broke the record. Six.
Your whole comment is so full of nonsense.

SO 6 days out of 60 above 100 degrees (10%) with many buildings having no AC. How many between 85 -95? Yes, its nonsense alright. I have spent several weeks in Denver in July and August and it can be miserably hot. My son spent 4.5 years in school in Denver and he talked about how miserable summers were, at times, even compared to Atlanta, due to the lack of AC. I understand folks love them some Denver. Denying that it can be damned hot in Denver and AC is not as common as it should be is simply denying a well known fact.
BY comparison Atlanta had one day above 100 degrees in 2024, one of the hottest summers on record for Atlanta. There are almost NO commercal buildings in Atlanta without AC and very few homes. Only 40% of residences in Denver have AC - 99% in Atlanta have AC. There are many articles in Denver media outlets about the lack of AC in the area...its a well known fact that summers in Denver can be miserable.

The average high in Denver in July is 88 degrees and the low is 62 so thats 26 degrees difference. By comparison Atlanta, known for heat and humidity, is 90 and 70 so a difference of 20 degrees. Humidity is the difference, and air conditioning. Atlanta has AC, Denver largely does not.

Flies and cockroaches in un air conditioned stores, restaurants and bars where doors and windows are kept open because it is so damned hot are not rare at all. It is VERY similar to most of Europe which is also hot as hell in summer and AC is rare so windows and doors are open and bugs are common.

AZ, CO, UT, CA in that order, but all beautiful.
Alaska and Hawaii...
We need a "Rank the States in Natural Beauty" thread.

So your original statement was wrong and I was right. Got it.

Given that you’ve already made up some BS about temps not dropping at night, you will need to provide some support here. I live here and know one person without AC. Denver largely does have AC. Up in the mountains most people don’t, but that’s not true in Denver.

What Denver has an abundance is whole house Evaporative Cooling, ie Swamp Coolers which much for cost effective that traditional AC. The drawback to swamp cooler is the reliance on open windows to get the flow through the house. In the likely event there is smoke in the air during the summer months, you will introduce this into the air in your house. When the air is clean, it's truly the preferred method of cooling your house. I used to run the swamp cooler at nights in the summer and got my house temps down into the 50's and it it wouldn't have to kick back on until late afternoon. It was great.

Denver is not really a great city. It's just surrounded by beauty (I know you said not to bring up Denver itself, but....)
Californians moving in have made most of the rest of the state too expensive.
Totally landlocked.
It's gorgeous and I'd live there because I'm fine being around people that don't vote like me, but Mrs. 3nOut hates the cold. If I were single and had my buying power without the family I'd be in small town Colorado or Upstate Maine/NH without even thinking about it.
Heat in Texas sucks from late June to mid-september. Bitter cold in Colorado is from October to June.
Politics wise, it's a fairly libertarian state despite most news out of Denver. Governor is a gay progressive but also has some libertarian streaks every now and then.
From a very progressive coworker in Denver, the immigration thing is real. He absolutely hates Trump, but has said that the immigration and being a sanctuary state has actually had a very negative effect on the Denver metro. Lax weed laws make a lot of public areas smell awful.

What is you definition of bitter cold? It's supposed to be in the 50s and 60s this week.
