why is it, do you think, that the most beautiful states in this country tend towards liberal politics

What time period? California was solidly red for a long time. Louisiana was solidly blue during segregationist south. All major inner cities are solidly blue, meanwhile open country and the beautiful parts of the country are solidly red.

Knowing this now, why don't you try answering your own question?

been there 9 times this year

Denver fricking sucks. Get a truck or SUV and head west, do not stop in Denver. Everything on the front range and on is beautiful.

I'm shocked that your faith is only granted to democrat government workers. How worldly of you... Maybe that's why you're having such a hard time. Your religion was soundly rejected 2 weeks ago. Maybe you should put your faith in something other than people who survive on my tax dollars.

I think demographics plays part in how far your tax dollars go.

It's expensive. With the massive migration to the state it has become very cookie cutter. A lot of chains, big suburban feel around the cities, etc. A lot of traffic.

Let's talk about the climate. It's dry. The good thing is you can cool your house with a swamp cooler so you electricity bills are cheap. That said, if you go that route, you can bank at least a few months out of the year, you will smell wildfire smoke in your house. Doesn't matter where the fire is, the smoke comes to the front range. You will miss the humidity just a little bit.

You're Tax burden will be a little bit more but not by much on the whole. That says, your property values are through the roof. Average home price in the state is north of $550k. You would be shocked what a $1 million dollar home looks like here.

There is a big homeless population and they are spread out all over.

Finally, no other state has more car thefts than Colorado. I know a guy who had his truck stolen twice. F-250

yes but as a worldly educated man you already know that the practical impact of "red" and "blue" has basically flipped since the mid 1800's. and i will answer my own question...people who live in beautiful places arent as angry as people who dont. they dont see the world as a contest...because they know they've already won

Three of the first five replies are about politics, but I guess that's where we are as a country.

In this case its actually a valid point. I lived there in the mid 2000s and they were as spun up over liberal politics then as the rest of the country is now. It really caught me off guard how hard-legged those people were about politics.

I mean California has 12 Republican representatives and I think everyone would agree that California is left.

I started to appreciate, and eventually find beauty in the vastness of the desert

I mentioned I find beauty in the desert. I love the desert, I've spent much time there. I'm talking about the day to day living once the novelty wears off. The grit. The fact is that I find beauty everywhere, desert, mediterranean, virgin forest, tropical rainforest, temperate rainforest, high plains, Maggie Valley, the beach, the piedmont, the mountains, the outback....

I've found that I wouldn't want to live in a very dry climate after spending so many years in such a wet climate. I need a boat, preferably with access to the sea.

Also, while there aren't many fat people at all, there aren't many attractive people either. It's weird. Full of thin, ugly people.

And Colorado Springs elected its first Democrat mayor in 55 years. We’re trending left. COS is being overrun by blue transplants.
