I thought being what they told me was a "high functioning addict", that maybe I could help him with basic life stuff by serving as an example. There was supposed to be 3 of us, and the other guy was a lot more stable and committed, but now because of all this bullshite his sponsor doesn't want him to move in either

His response doesn’t seem unreasonable.

What these guys said.

Listen, I have a big heart to help people who are going through hard times. But I absolutely require them to do their part to help themselves if I’m going to invest my time and resources on their behalf. Your “friend” is just using you, like all addicts do.
Yes, I’ve learned this lesson the hard way.

I thought I could help him. I was wrong. And he's a very convincing liar. He believes his own lies.

Find better roommates. Ones that have stable jobs before they move in Bozo

You can't save the world ans take in charity cases. Help where you can, don't let in trash that's just going to bring you to the lowest common denominator

He probably knew he could hustle you when he met you in treatment. Sounds like he's still acting like a drug addict. If hes still entitled, that doesn't bode well for recovery....

If you can afford to live without him , you should do it. ASAP.

That's stupid. You're both inclined to bad decisions and poor judgement. You should live alone and get your shite straight before you let anyone new into your life.

You cant both have your needs met.
You pay bill.
You win.

Tell him.to find new residence.
And leave windows alone.
No touch.
No fan.

Go away dude.

Best for your sobriety you drop that dude. I know break ups can be hard for you people but it would be better for you in the long run. I thought you shouldn’t date anyone your first year of trying to remain clean?

You asked him to leave, he agreed, and your negotiating over windows and fans?

I’d kick off the negotiations with the following:
